Help with server configuration for new program.. Size.. bandwidth etc?
Just trying to find out so we don?t get burn later on? Right now we have 3 sites. One is video site so bandwidth should be a lot higher than 2 other that have mix of both video and photo. Would this server be able to hold it?
Pentium4 2.4GHz 1GB DDR RAM 120GB 7.2K RPM HDD 1500 Gigs of Bandwidth 100Mbps Ethernet Port

Doesn't sound great, you'd really want a dual CPU for a movie site - but then again all depends on the volume of traffic your expecting, hit me up on ICQ: 4930562 and I can better guide you.

zagi - can you explain the rational behind the video site needing a dual cpu rig?
Personally, I would recommend a lot more ram (hopefully some caching will occur, depends on the setup) and scsi or at least raided sata drives as IO will be more of a factor then CPU time... |
