I agree with most of what is said, with the exception of it being cheap to live down there. Although the land will be dirt cheap, won't insurance be astronomical?

The amount of money just to clean up is gonna break people. Add to that the new bankruptcy laws go into effect before any victims can assess their damages means you'll now have maybe 100,000 people in debt til death.

You're all looking at how unprepared and unfocused we are as a species toward disaster. The technologies to withstand and laugh at a Category 5 storm has been here for decades. We didn't implement them because it was too inconvenient or expensive or some other nonsense.

Considering that hurricane season isn't half over just one more devestating storm will bankrupt a good chunk of the U.S. population.

War is too expensive and Bush is not about to give up his war to take care of his citizens. That fucks up his plans.

Yesterday 1,000 Iraqis died in a stampede. You would figure a culture as old as recorded history would behave better. It's an indicator of their mentality and how useless this war is.

Just wait, when the public realizes the economic repercussions it'll be too late.

Real estate gurus are gonna cringe when they see the new insurance rates. Nobody will rent there as the rents won't cover the insurance.

BVF didnt mention anyting about property being taken away - he was speaking of the people who own property arent going to rebuild to have the poor move back but to have people with money move in and the poor will be relocated into cheap housing outside of N.O.

This is the only opportunity they'll ever have to get all of the underclass people out of the city and revamp the tax base of new orleans.
