Once you know what body type you're working with (genetics), the percentages would change.

Example, a big guy who puts on muscle easily, but also carries a lot of fat needs to work out hard initially & build up the muscle. Adding diet & cardio into the mix later on will lean him out & he'll be able to maintain his look with a lighter maintenance diet & training schedule.

A really thin guy that has next to no body fat will have a much tougher time ever getting to that size. Years of weight training, protein supplements etc. Diet is important here too, but mostly just consuming more protein & calories, rather than the first guy trying to get cut.

It's not all that mysterious or difficult. Just go to a personal trainer and have him set you up with a workout schedule and stick with it. That's pretty much all there is to it. If you get to a certain point and absolutely can't gain any more weight you can skip the roids and use Creatine, which will pack on pounds and let you break thru to the next level pretty quickly.

This kind of body isn't a roid body, he's lean and cut, not massive and bulky. Roids are for guys who want to get HUGE - unnaturally huge. I mean you can use them to get this kind of body but you definitely don't have to. The problem with lifting weights is that A. it's mind-numbingly dull and B. it's not real strength. I've rolled with guys who are roughly my weight but all muscled out and cut up and they're no stronger on the mat. There's a difference between muscle you get grappling and muscle you get on a weight bench. Sculpted muscle can help a little but the guys who have real crazy strength usually have a pot belly, big meaty shoulders and a wide back. Big pecs aren't very useful except to get bitches.

So true! I can't help but laugh at some of my guy friends who trash talk UFC fighters. Just because they don't look huge & cut doesn't mean they won't kick your ass.

Steen2 08-30-2005 05:22 PM

Hmmm...
I eat nothing, drink red bull and go to the gym 3 times/week for 60 mins on a good week.

It ain't working for me :(

Rob 08-30-2005 05:23 PM

I would go 70 percent genetics but your close. I knew a guy he looked close to that with a six pack and he did nothing and ate crap most of the time.
This myth nice bodies mean hard work and clean diets. I worked with jack shacks girls they had smokin bodies the biggest a size 2 and they ate like men going to the electric chair. lol

Hollywood Horwitz 08-30-2005 05:41 PM

Lets get real, it's mostly genetics.

Try Max-ot program... http://www.ast-ss.com/max-ot/max-ot_intro.asp
Should start soon (again) .. THe thing is if you lift weight but don't do the diet to go with it.. You are losing your time... especially when you are skinny..

You must only know guys who juice to get big. Open up any muscle magazine and everyone in there is using hormones, HGH, Clen, whatever. Until my eyes were opened lately, I had no idea how many people use Pro Hormones to get the body they want. Male and female. It's a huge industry.

What you are referring to in muscle difference from lifting and rolling is nothing special. It's called leverage.

50% genetics? try 99% if your body sais your pecs wont look like that guess what you can't make your pecs turn into shelfs.. you'll always have round pecs and not shelf looking pecs its alllllll in yhour genetics.. and proper diet :)

pornguy 08-30-2005 08:37 PM

First off start taking it up the ass.

Secondly find a job that will pay you to live in the gym.

sniperwolf 08-30-2005 08:40 PM

i thought so too... :winkwink:

Nismo 08-30-2005 08:53 PM

It's easy =)

my cutting diet
-45min of cardio every AM
-1hr of lifting (1 muscle group per week)
-strict & very boring diet (lean meats, brown rice & steamed veggies). I eat the same thing at the same time every day until i reach desired bf%.

wedouglas 08-30-2005 08:55 PM

It's about 15% genetic, 85% working out and dieting. It's easy to get like that if you spend the time.

THats not true you can only get in the best shape your genetics will allow. I would work my ass off at the gym ,my friend who had a six pack so deep you would think he needed a q tip to clean the ridges .HE did nothing and if he decide to lift he couldnt do arms because they grow too quickly.I hated him lol
I bet you dollars to donuts that guy looked like that his whole life. Somepoeple are really gifted and the magazines and supplement compaines stick them in our faces and say you can look like that and you wont if you dont have the building blocks. I could live in the gym ,eat very clean take the same steriods as Dorian but my body would look nothing like his becuase I dont have the genetics .Can I get in great shape fuck yeah but it would be the best shape for my genetics.

wedouglas 08-30-2005 09:13 PM

Anyone can get in that shape or a very good looking one if they work hard and follow strict dieting and exercise. Some peoples genetics allows them to work less, but anyone can do it.

Genetics also prevents some people from doing so; not everyone can do it.

Are you really this ignorant? Let me guess...you are morbidly obese?

The reason your friend who "did nothing" had a 6pack was probably one or all of these reasons: he was active in sports, didn't eat bad foods and ate alot of protein and clean foods every few hours, had good genes, had plenty of sleep, had high metabolism and good genes.

It's really amazing how these webmasters, who are morbidlby obese and don't know the first thing about nutrition, proper portion size, proper diet, etc. are over here telling people that you can only get a body like that if you are genetically predisposed to look like that.

man you can post that the sky is red a hundred times, but that don't make it fucking so. The only thing you need to get in good shape is self-discipline and hard work. It's not your genetics that's making you guys sloppy fatasses lol, it's sitting on the couch eating nachos and reading GFY all day.

Genetics lol... you might not be able to get that EXACT body shape, but you can get hard and cut up. It's ok to be out of shape or whatever, but don't try to kid yourself and everyone else by saying you can't get in shape because you're genetically predisposed to be shaped like a doughnut.

What genetics prevent this? Of course someone who was born with severe asthma may not be able to exercise enough to get in that shape. That is not the genetics people are talking about.

These people are talking about metabolism, and even metabolism only goes so far.

Hardwork, exercise, discipline and dieting is all you need.

He's talking about the recessive 'fatass' gene. It's only carried on the y chromosome and sometimes skips a generation :1orglaugh

You really dont know what your talking about my brother has the discipline of a marine. Ate extremely clean (cans and cans canned tuna, chicken), lifted like a animal worked and practically lived in the gym. He looked great but he was far from ripped its not in our genetics. Not everyone can get ripped I dont care what muscle mags tell you.
