our music sucks ass, with the exception of a handful of performers. everything on the radio is bubble-gum rock and pop and rap, from good charlotte to kelly clarkson to lil bow wow. censorship is forcing howard stern to go to paid programming and the rest of the disc jockeys are totally dull. the movies and sitcoms on TV are filled with propaganda and commercialization. there are no real ground-breaking movies out that push our imaginations at all.

theres more examples of this all over the place, but those were just to name a few.

or am i just smoking too much crack today

The 20th century was so fast paced, most of the music, movies, TV shows, books, etc. are now recycled plots. It's hard to be innovative anymore. Everyone is desensitized... nothing is exciting anymore. Adult is heading in the same direction. Look at how extreme some sites are now, just to give people something new. people are brainwashed, i totally agree. i take a look at the sixties and seventies where our culture thrived with originallity and even revolt. but there barely has been anything worthwhile going on in the last 20 years or so since.

A lot of movies nowadays are still hitting box office spot. It's change--maybe we're following a new trend now but both era have quality movies they could always be proud of.

hmm, i think people go and see movies because they are movies, not because they are good. I'm making no coment on the quality of Spiderman but if it was a bad movie people would still go and see it.

I think that alot of people feel poorly about mainsteam media and Independent films are going to continue to rise. Films that would have been considered cult movies are going to become popular.

Anyway, remember that the box office is simply a commercial for the dvd and novelty items. They make less than 1/3 of their profits from the silver screen.
