Removing spyware on your computer

I have spybot and Adaware. For 2 years they worked great. Now they don't get rid of whatever is on my computer. If I fun spybot every hour it will find the same DOS Exploit and remove it again but it keeps coming back.

Where is the spyware coming from? ICQ? Limewire (which I almost always have disabled).

What programs are you using to remove spyware these days?

Have you tried running antivirus too?

http://housecall.trendmicro.com

Use their full security scan.

You could have a virus that is causing you to be infected with that shit. Sometimes you have to remove shit manually as well because the programs can't delete it when it is running in the background.

and just how do you make sure you don't get any.

if you don't use anything I highly suggest you get something, I think you will be in for a BIG surprise, most likely a bunch of surprises.

My sisters computer got infected.
I ran MS anti spyware, adaware, spybot, counterspy and a couple of other programs.
I also ran 2 different antivirus and 2 online antivirus.
That removed everything.
Ran a scan again and I was told the system were clean.
The hijack this log were also clean.

But everytime I went online it came back didn't get any alerts from the firewall that something strange were trying to connect.
I ended up formatting and reinstalling windows.

the reason the crap comes back is it is written in your registry.
reboot in safe mode, go to the registry and remove it yourself.
then reboot.

run ad-aware, spybot, microsoft anti-spyware, cw shredder, avg free edition. I usually start with those. Make sure to update them all, and might have to run them in safe mode also.

A couple months ago I was raped by spyware. I couldn't get rid of it no matter what I did. Not only did it disable control alt delete (not even fixing that in the registry worked), it also disabled the buttons on my keyboard... I formatted, loaded up Windows and went to try to see if control alt delete was working, but no dice.

HOW THE HELL DOES SPYWARE DISABLE KEYS ON A KEYBOARD PERMANENTLY!?

I'm going to try that. when I look at the details of the scan results, it always shows stuff in my registry keys. DOS Exploit.

I caught once a pretty nice adware and nothing would remove it.

There's only one thing that helped me - it's pretty simple actually - system restore.

I just ran the wizard, restored it to some previous settings and everything was back to normal.

After that, I got used to creating a restore point every week or so.

whatever you get in the scan results.
use that to search Google.
you should find some links to sites that will tell you how to remove it.

Thanks man, did that. This guy had exactly the same problem I am and people found a solution for him so it's going to work for me too:
