actually, what works quite nicely for forums is to add them to free sites with existing traffic. They are easy and free to setup as well. Your ads will get tons of exposure that way, too.

Right now I am investigating a retailer website which is using directly copied content from multiple sites including one of my own. It appears that the owner of this site hired an outside SEO company to do the work.

3 step duplicate content check. Everything is freshly researched and written. As much as possible, we prefer to work with PRIMARY SOURCES instead of secondary ones.

Again if you dont know your niche already why get into it - theres loads of places to find and exchange targetted links in your own niche if you just fidn the forum that the niche is based on - i know a forum for every niche with webmasters to match it

Ive built several sites from scratch - blog , forum , link list and articles based and mixed them altogether aswell and the results with some daily work have been impressive

If you dont have time to run your own damn sites you shouldnt be a webmaster
