Anyone else have periods of having really odd dreams?

I had broken sleep last night because for some reason I was dreaming that I had found some information that someone I went to school with (elementry on up but hadn't even thought of once since graduation) was in trouble and going to be murdered if I didn't hunt him down and find him. I eventually found it him some market square by yelling his name and him just happening to be out shopping.

I got up and googled his name (it is an unusual name) and found nothing on him...I feel like the big booming - dun dun DUNNNN - music should be going off in the script about now.

The mind is an odd, odd place.

Our subconscious... glimpse into another dimension maybe? Dreams are fascinating. It shows us the complexity and beauty of the human mind.

My dreams are erratic... sometimes they make sense, other times they don't make any sense. Napolean has very vivid dreams... I envy him.

Last night I dreamt one of the largest TGP's hired me..
I was really happy with that great job, they gave me a tour around the office and everything.

I'm not even looking for work, and why the fuck do I dream about a TGP ???

When I quit smoking I used a Nicotine patch for a like six weeks. I wore it at night and it gave me the most vivid dreams ever. Absolutely amazing. Some people have nightmares, and although I did dream about some people dying, I didn't really have nightmares.

I envy you...

I take a pharmaceutical cocktail of hydrocodone, welbutrin, nexium, lipitor and a few other minor odds and sods. Plus my nitro spray gets a pretty good workout every day. Courtesy of that little lot I sleep in snatches of 1-1½ hours and I don't remember the last time I had a dream of which I was conscious. Miss them too: I used to have some really entertaining dreams on occasion.

I am on medication to prevent migraines and it gives me the wildest dreams. Some nights it's like going to the movies with vivid cinematography, well developed plot lines, and interesting characters. It's great!

Oh, you can just imagine the dreams I've had over the past few months.......

Kassidy - I have migraines - what are you taking? I use Imitrex mostly. Greatest thing since sliced bread for me. I've taken just about every single kind of preventative but they've all either not worked or have given me strange side effects.

I'm mostly a lucid dreamer, so I have wild dreams all the time =0 whatever I want

Though sometimes there's still those uncontrollable "WTF does that mean" type dreams. You know where you're in Candyland and Godzilla is flying in the air then you fall down a hole with bunny rabbits hopping around during a thunderstorm and shit...

Yeah hon, I can. I get those too.

I have always had very vivid dreams. I can remember as a toddler dreaming about being in Popeye and beating up Brutus..lol. Ah, the innocent days.

My sense is that the dream state is our consciousness popping over to the other side.

I never have nice dreams.... somtimes they start out ok, but they always end being nightmares. I always end up trapped someplace, like a mall or on a ship.

I sometimes dream that I have woken up and start getting on with the day. Then strange things start happening and I realise its a dream. So I wake up again and the same thing happens. Thats really disconcerting.

Hmmm, any really truly odd dreams that I have & remember, I can think back & trace them back to little tiny bits of information/experience that happened to me the day or week before... most of the time my mind is pretty lucid while I'm asleep & my dreams make sound sense & I can figure out exactly what they mean... the oddest dreams always come when the random bits get tossed in a tumbler & then spat out.

Example, not that long ago I had a freaky dream about a random football team dressing in drag and waving pom poms and bouncing around waving VERY brightly colored pom poms, and in general, harassing a Sabre Tooth Tiger. They figured there was enough of them, it would just get annoyed & run away. Then one guy decided he was going to be the hero & charged the animal to tackle it...and the cat sank its teeth into his shoulder & the dream got ugly real fast... I woke up... was not real thrilled about that dream & didn't want to wake up on that kind of negativity so I went back to sleep. Then I dreamt about a decapitated head being found in a swimming pool of blood... imagine a rectangular pool, blood surrounds all 4 sides, in the middle of the pool the water is clear... clear enough that you can see the head (which was wearing goggles) in one of the bottom corners, looking back up at you. The body was never located, I didn't like that scene so my mind decided to take me back prior to the head decapitation in that particular plotline & unveiled a whole new stream of horror into my sleep. I would not say I woke up particularly "rested" that morning...

I take Amitriptylene which is actually an old school antidepressant but it is very effective in stablizing your blood vessels, thereby preventing migraines. A very low dose is very effective with few side effects. Aside from the vivid dreams, I'm just happier and about 95% headache-free...which is awsome because I was getting them about 5 out of 7 days before.

I've not tried that (I don't think....). I'll mention it to my Dr - I'm always up for anything

KRL, if our dreams are a crossover to the other side, I'm in BIG trouble

I've OOBE'd once, it was...I don't know, I had tried it a couple times before without success & then followed a couple other tips & managed it but it was really more of an accidental thing than anything else I think.

There was also a spirit that occupied the house I managed it in who was a lot more familiar with that realm, and sent me back to bed fairly quickly. Very neat experience though & I'd love to be able to control it.

Very neat. I haven't been able to do it yet but I enjoy reading and reasearching about it. The astral seems pretty amazing.

I've been having lots of strange, vivid dreams lately. Just this morning I woke up pissed off at my girl and her friend. Didn't want to talk to her. After that I fell back asleep and wasn't mad anymore

I'm not an expert on it but I've managed a few times.

The worst thing about knowing so much about your dreams is the nightmares that sometimes happen. Sometimes things that happen that are so real that you never really know if it was a dream or not [IE ghost encounters, noises, etc], and things that invade your dreams and make them nightmares, seemingly not allowing you to wake up.

But other than those few rare occurances being so conscious of your dreams is possibly one of the greatest gifts ever. You defy all bounds of this world and life, it seems...

I have had this same dream a thousand times.... I am running down this alley with a 4 foot asian kid chasing me, and he seems to be holding an Uzi.... I slide underneath a semi-trailer to hide, he looks under the trailer and see's me and then starts to open up with the gun, except the bullets are like make of rubber and they bounce off of me, so I get up and run after the dude and as soon as I grab him I wake up....... weird shit.
