Is there any way I can stop or redirect use of this keyword on my site?

I think Google Images, or something like it is linkenhotten.

How do I get rid of it? I know something in .htaccess will work, but what exactly?

I am starting to see the trend here of business related threads getting ignored... never really noticed, but it is true.

Google Images do NOT hotlink. They create thumb and host it themselves.

great, so then why do I use that phrase in all the search engines and do not see my site in the first 5 pages?

Besides, I said Google Images or SOMETHING LIKE IT!

Please visit this thread and you will know what I am talking about.

I am not claiming to be an SEO of any caliber... by far.

I am simply not getting any productive use from BW used in this nature. I KNOW I don't get any serious surfers from that keyphrase... it is too singled out. I want to block it.

Ok download this tool called IBP for free (free trial) . check your ranking on all the SE's for the term "pic". Print your report and date it that will show you what SE's currently have you listed highly for "pic". Then go in to the keyword density tool and tell it your trying to optimize for "pic" on your site. It will spider your site and tell you how well you've optimized for that and give you a score. Do the opposite of what it tells you to do and of course remove that term wherever it shows you it exists. Get the worst density possible for that term. Come back a couple weeks later and check your ranking and compare to the earlier report. Easy SEO de-optimization.

Is the referring site images.google.com?

In robots.txt:

User-agent: *
Disallow: /your images folder/

There's other ways to take advantage of it.

To be honest, I don't even know that any images show up using the term, as I have never named any images with that text. I used to think it was from my index page, which used to look like:

01. 15 Pics of blah blah blah
02. 16 Pics of blah blah blah
03. 18 Pics of blah blah blah
04. 13 Pics of blah blah blah
...
39. 16 Pics of blah blah blah
40. 15 Pics of blah blah blah

But that page has been long gone.

I guess Juilans reply might help with that anyway.

Another way is to install Statcounter.com (it's free) on that site, and use the keyword drill down. That would show you what SE's lead to what page on the term "pic". Then you either eliminate the term on the pages yourself or Reverse SEO it those pages liek in my previous post.

I feel for you since I have a site that has high rankings for "pics" and "free clips" and this traffic is just a bunch of leeching mofos.
