Paysite spam problem, has this happened to you?

My hosting company has informed me that they have gotten several complaints about spam promoting my paysite (from spamcop.net). Now I dont send spam, so it could only be a affliate thats doing it. So I try looking through the forwarded copies of the spam to locate the affiliate's code and cancel that person. But to my surprize there is no affiliate code in the spam. It seems to link directly to the site. How could this be? Why would a affiliate spam without ref code. I am stumped.

Has this happened to anyone else? Anyone have any ideas what could be going on?

Maybe someone hates you and want to turn your site off?

I dont have any enemies that I am aware of. Would other site owners really stoop that low?
