WTF? not a single member retained!?

was checking ccbill stats and i found the "non-conversion" stats, and it looks damn ugly!!!
out of 20 four day trials not a single one converted to a recurring member, and now checking the conversions i realized i have only 4 active members
I tought a recurring program was going to be good, but are member retentions this ugly? i'll have to think seriously about moving to a per signup sponsor, or wait some months to see if there are "loyal" members
Does ccbill notify members they're going to be charged as globill does or they've read some of those "get into paysites for free" ads!?

In a membership site, exclusive content is king. Next best is good content from a source that doesn't have 10Z (zillion) clients. After that, you're into worse and worse: low-cost content, free content, and content someone will actually pay you to put up.

Members don't give a flying fuck if your site has really snappy graphic design if all it does is lead to stuff they've seen before or which isn't very interesting.

Another thing to look into is how fast is your server. Some people quit sites because pages take forever to load.

That's brutal.

somebody is putting a little too much emphasis on the tour...and not enough on servicing the customer after the sale...

Looks like the site has lots of exclusive content, etc. maybe it's time to switch, but my real question is: is it worth to use recurring "partnership" sponsors, or pay per signup is the way to go? i've chosen recurring obviously in hope of building a residual income, but at this rate i'm basically on a $4 per signup program

Members wont stick if the members area sucks.

Always join the program yourself before promoting a program.
It saves you a lot of time ans $$ in the longrun.

Every schmuck has a paysite and program now days..
Just because a tour looks nice doesnt mean shit.

To find out for yourself if the people behind the program are dishing out $$ for content is #1. Only way to find out is join that members area yourself.

Recurring isnt the issue here.
If its a good site, with a real membership area you'll make $$.

Some of the sites Ive seen posted around here as of late I doubt are any good.

Sure they have nice designs and front ends, but these newbies arent paying the thousands of dollars every month on content, movies, feeds, fresh original content.

yep, can you spare a credit card? lol i definetely would do it!
I guess that explains why sponsors doesn't give access to the members area, at least for, say, an hour, or at least detailed descriptions/screenshots of the members area features on the program's webmasters sections...

Or you can email the paysite owner and ask for a temp
pass so you can peek inside.
Most paysites would give you one.
Retention is also depending on what you promise
them on your end before they join.
Sometimes you tease them so well they join
without going trough the tour..
and if you promise to much .. well..
Ex. I seen gallerys saying
"get the movies and pics of this babe gangbanged
by 6 guys..."
And if that babe dont get gangbanged inside they will
leave.

All depends on the site. I've got one sponsor I use where I have a bunch of members who are up into their second year of rebills. 24+ months.

I've also tried recurring sponsors that had results similar to what you had. 15 trials, 0 conversions to full members.

Depends on what site you're promoting, how well they treat their members and what their content selection is like.

I promote an Adultbouncer archive as a partner with very little effort and ~90% of the members stay..
it all depends on the content and the _updates_ of a site.

You could check out my site, http://www.x3guide.com - honest reviews of all these paysites..

If you're just looking to promote sites, the ones rated gold or silver there will make you money I bet (they don't all have partnership programs set up tho)

It's my experience that the design of the members area is the most important factor in the retention rate of members.

I started my own paysite almost a year ago. The conversion rate of the tour was quite good but only 15% of the trials was converting to a monthly membership. Most of the the monthly memberships didn't convert to a second month.

Two months ago I redesigned the members area and now 70% of the trials is converting to a monthly membership. Now I'm waiting to collect more data about the average membership length, but when I see the increasement of the trial to monthly conversion rate I assume the average lenght would increase very much.

The content is stil the same: 12.000 pics carefully rotated in the membership area with every two weeks a brand new set added. But the members thinks every two days a new set is added.

Because of my own experience I think the design is more important then the pics. Unless the quality and number of the pics is very bad and very low.

That's way you always should buy a trial to check out the membership area of a site when you are going to promote one of the smaller paysites.

So basically what you're saying is that after you stole Tommy's webmaster page and banners you bought a membership so you could steal the members area layout too?
