Help with cPanel/WHM
Ok I tried the capanel/whm forum but i bet IU will get a quicker answer here
maybe what i wish to do isnt possible but here goes I want to create an account that has multiple wesites...call it southadm southadm has 3 websites site1.com, site 2.com, site3.com I want them to go into southadm home dir ex. /usr/home/southadm/www/site1.com (contains a cgi-bin and htdocs dirs for site1.com) /usr/home/southadm/www/site2.com (contains a cgi-bin and htdocs dirs for site2.com) /usr/home/southadm/www/site3.com (contains a cgi-bin and htdocs dirs for site3.com) It appears that cpanel/whm forces me to set up a seperate account for each site and that account is limited to 8 characters so if I had mikesouth.com and mikesouth.net I would have to create 8 character accounts for each site that were different...is this correct? This is driving me nuts any help is very appreciated Thanks

i believe you can create an addon domain, just follow the instructions on the screen. make the account in whm and then got to cpanel for that account and i believe what you want is "domain addon"

You then choose the username to be the same name as the folder you want to usefor that domain name. The new ftp username will be: [email protected] |

To expand on what sfera said, make one user account in whm with the main domain, then set the account to be allowed addon domains, then go to the user's cPanel you just created, and addon the extra domains.. it'll set it up like you are talking about.
