Movies you've hated that everyone else loved.......

Just curious...

What are the movies that everyone else is raving about while you are saying "That's Crap!"?

For me its "Million Dollar Baby" and "Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind".

Any others?

Everybody i talked to LOVED Bad Santa. I thought it sucked ass. Could barely make it through it.

This thread reminds me of the Seinfeld episode about The English Patient

"Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind" same here, its not that I hated it.. I just failed to see what everyone else found so amazing about it. That being said, I enjoy Lost in Translation, and everyone else seems to hate it.

Lost in Translation for me - I can't get through it - it's way to slow - even though I think Scarlet Johansen is Hot!

Add that one to my list too. When you make a movie about people that are bored.... you get a boring movie.

I second that. Also Titanic. No clue why so many people say it over and over.

I enjoyed both a great deal. Enternal Sunshine was my faveorite film on that year and to not even be nominated for best film was a joke.

I tend to like the films that pick up writing awards. It happens to me nearly every year that the films I liked the most get the writing statues and not much more..Lost in Translation, Adaptation, Sideways, Eternal Sunshine, etc.

I *hate* Moulin Rouge too. I was out of it the moment they started in with Teen Spirit. Okay, I know it was an attempt at giving Bollywood and English language treatment but it drove me nuts with over hype.

My girlfriends and I have an agreement that we watch Steel Magnolias up until the pasta goes on the stove and then we stop. It goes from a very funny chick movie to depressing.

Part of the problem was that Clint Eastwood starred in and directed the movie. So he did what a lot of director/actors do and added a lot of extra scenes for his part. You could have left out 90% of his character development; His learning Galic, his relationship with the priest, his hatred of canned keylime pie seemed forced. These things did not advance the plot and weren't needed. They made the movie way to long.

You had enough stuff to understand his motivation based off his past with Morgan Freeman and his estranged daughter.
