Google Employees Buying Big Time Property

Interesting read about how much their employees are spending on new houses. Anyone want to go work for Google?

"More than half a dozen Google employees have bought Atherton houses for between $3.5 million and $17.8 million since September"

I'll bet those people don't sweep any floors or clean windows. I've heard of several GE employees buying expensive properties too...

It's what happens when you take stockoptions instead of bonuses and then the company you work for IPOs and gets billions... eg: Microsoft

I wonder what there options price was and how much of a capital gain they are going to get hit with? Doesn't really matter as either way that is one hell of an employee bonus!

More than half a dozen Google employees have bought Atherton houses for between $3.5 million and $17.8 million since September, say local brokers, and another dozen Googlers are still looking to buy in the town. "There's been an obvious Google effect," says Tom Dallas, a local broker who specializes in homes in Atherton and neighboring towns. "I estimate 25% to 35% of recent upper-end home sales, meaning sales over $7 million, are from Google people."

Funny how people will spend time looking at how much people are spending and/or making and apparently not worry about what they, themselves, are doing. Stop fantasizing and make it happen... pussy fags

Wall Street will look to adult entertainment before long. As the industry becomes more professional on the whole, real investors are seeing that this has the makings of an industry that could be host to major roll-ups, acquisitions and mergers. It is a profitable business that sells luxury and pleasure materials to the average joe.
