Watermarking Question

I run a non-adult video website, and although for the longest time I've been allowing visitors on the site to just download the videos (haven't watermarked them) we've been getting some of them re-submitted with other website's watermarked logos on them.

Now that we are going to start streaming the videos and also allowing a download, I want to watermark all of the videos to assist in the viral marketing campaigns. So the question is, is there a way to remove the current watermark from our videos and replace them with our own? If so, is there a specific type of program/tool we need, and how would we go about doing so?

Sort of. the tool is VirtualDub and you need to use a filter called LogoAway

I have used it with mixed results. Best if your logo can overlay and cover the one you wanted to hide/remove. This procedure will require re-encoding.

How long would it take to do on avg? Or does that depend on how many frames per video?

If the videos are truly his, then removing the watermark would be perfectly legal. But I really wonder... Why not just use your original video file rather than one somebody supposedly reuploaded with a watermark? HMmmmmm
