Anyone here really good with using htaccess to redirect requests? It's not for hotlinking, it's because I moved some stuff and don't want to have to get a hold of a ton of different people. I'd rather just have the server do an internal forwarding to all the old URL's still work and no one can tell the difference.
If you think you can help, ICQ me please. 44737242. And yes, I looked at the Apache website and through google. All the mod_rewrite tutorials hurt my brain when I try to read them. |

Just delete the old files and put in a 404 redirect in htaccess. nobody can tell.
Works for me. |

Can't. It's for some cgi stuff. www.domain.com/cgi-bin/script.cgi?var=aaa needs to go to www.domain.com/script.cgi?var=aaa seemlessly. I know there's a way to do it using mod_rewrite, I just don't know how.
It's actually a dumb idea. I don't think I'm gonna do it now. Not sure what the point is anymore or why it even seemed like a good idea at the time. I'm an idiot. |
