Fletch XXX 02-05-2002 01:12 PM

Hey Mike, if it helps man, I have 4 sites on webair and have always had an easy time getting response and things fixed, as a matter of fact I registered a new domain 2 days ago and contacted webair yesterday regarding "pointing" the url to their servers and this morning an email was there.
Webair has ALWAYS dealt with me one on one and in a cool laid back manner, one of the reasons I continue to use them, I can obviously find cheaper than them, but their quality of service and friendliness has maintained my loyalty.

hey Mike, on my new site can I get that 30 days free even though Im existing client?

;)

pr0view 02-05-2002 01:13 PM

k-man, do you get paid for that or what? jesus, bro, you made your point obvious about a hundred times... no one is going to believe that webair is the fucking number one hosting company just because you are posting like spacedog in this thread... take a break, would ya? :ugone2far

kmanrox 02-05-2002 01:48 PM

haha no, but i am good friends of Mike and he has been nothing but cordial and professional from day 1 and his reputation goes back as far as mine...

I just dont like to see people jump on a bandwagon for the hell of it... Content thiefs should all rot in hell, with cat burgalars, bank robbers and the like....

I am done with this thread, with an offer like Mike layed on the table, I don't see much room for any furhter discussion, he put his services where his mouth is and I commend that...

funkmaster 02-05-2002 02:01 PM

"Let them Give a Free trail then they will be mad when you Leave them after the Free trial"

... why not take 5 free trials and then leave ... if "webair" really is the boss of this company, devending himself here makes him look like a twat, if they took this thief down for not haveing his content licensed, thatīs fine, but why is "webair" doing it the hard way now? he should have never responded in the first place ... unless he had some 50 more clients since yesterday ... conspiracy, conspiracy !!!

sorry i'm late

anyone want a Twizzler?

ZapMan 02-05-2002 02:59 PM

I just want to burn free bandwidth for a month!

Snake Doctor 02-05-2002 04:05 PM

I think (not that anyone gives a shit what I think, but.....)
you're both in the wrong.

Traffic101 if you stole content, or even worse and entire site design, then you're scum and you shouldn't be in this biz. If the only way you can make $$ here is to copy other people's work then you should seriously consider other career options.

As for Webair, getting an email from another pissed off webmaster is not reason enough to remove an account. If you get a cease and desist letter from an attorney, then you have to do whatever your legal dept tells you to do, but until it comes to that you need to side with your client.
I have liscenses to every picture on my site, and suppose you got an email from someone saying something was stolen while I was in Vegas in January? I obviously wasn't around to answer the phone or reply to emails. But since I wasn't home and able to reply in what you considered a timely manner would you take down my sites and kill my livelihood while I was away?

And even if you were presented with undisputable proof from an attorney, shouldn't you have taken down only the offending domain and not his entire account? If I recall correctly traffic101 seems much more upset about losing linkdatabase.com than japanbukkake.com.

That's my :2 cents:

tekart 02-05-2002 04:07 PM

I just want to know this:

What is Webair?s policy about webmasters who have ?possible? stolen or illegal content on their website? I?ve looked at their website and don?t see anything that outlines what I ?can and can?t do!?.

I figure, if the company policy says that as a webmaster, I have to supply written proof that the content I have up on my site is legal, then I would think that if I do not respond within this given timeframe, my site would be taken down until such notice has been given to Webair.

However, if there is no such policy in place, then I think Webair should have kept the site up or at least have taken the liberty to email this guy the fact that his site was going to be taken down instead of giving him the run around?

As for those who have received good service from Webair in the past, I think every company has their share of customers who praise them and have experienced nothing but the best service and support, along with a good portion of customers who have not been so fortunate, especially when it comes to sites being taken down without warning, emails gone unanswered for days and everything else that would account to shit service.

So the bottom line is still?what is this company?s policy about what you can and can?t do when hosting w/them?

:)

my :2 cents:

Bobo 02-05-2002 04:08 PM

K-Man, go take a rest from defending your friend. This is a business and legal issue which should preclude any of your remarks made on behalf of your friendship.

I've had negative experiences with Webair in the past and know of at least two others. Tech support was always available but issues never seemed to get resolved completely. It was always temporary. Sites would go down many times each month without explanation or warning. Lost sales and traffic were never figured into an always increasing hosting fee.

Traffic, you're not alone in your experience. You may or may not have been at fault here. I'm not saying Webair is to blame nor you. I don't know. Let the FTC investigate and make their judgement.

All other services at Webair were great but without having your site online at all times, any hosting is just not worth it.

kmanrox 02-05-2002 05:59 PM

Bobo, newbie, go home... Your last post was something o the effect of 'Fuck the Irish' , I am Irish, why dont you post under your real handle kid? lol

Rictor 09-07-2003 11:44 PM

HAHAHAHAHAHAHA!

If traffic101 had ANY proof of ownership he would have faxed it already. $2500 cash. No one in their right mind would pass up such an easy bet unless they knew they would lose it because they are lying.

End of story.

I guess I should buy a membership to his site and make sure he hasn't stolen any of my content as well.

Rictor 09-07-2003 11:46 PM

It's an old thread but what happened? Where's the rest of the story?

exocet 09-07-2003 11:52 PM

Yeah, what happened? How did it end?

It feels like I just saw 3/4 of a 3 hour movie and by the looks of it I will never get to see the ending.
