someone here is a captain of a sinking ship calling for SOS months ago

as i see it, did webair ever ask for a copy of his liscence to use those images? or did they just cut the cord and jerk him around about it. I've been talking to this guy "traffic101" for awhile infact linkdatabase was one of my best trades, i don't think he's the type of person to steal content.

so the question remains did webair ask for proof and he just didn't have it or did they not ask and just took him down without telling him why.

as I see it, the fuckin guys a content thief living off of other people's hard work and he should burn...

As I see it WebAir is a top of the line host, and has been for years... IS there really an issue here? lol

I see a lot of host resellers trying to dog on their competition which in my book, is low clas...

I wouldn't host with someone who cuts the string on a valued client (come on...how many of you guys have been with a host for 2 years???) without asking for proof.

This isn't the first time I've heard shit about Webair.

Common guys do you think we would just cut the cord? please! we host alot of clients, don't you think you would have seen many more complaints previously? Anyhow I personally regret the position linkdatabase put themselves in, we did contact them and we received no reply, and for teh record the entire site was stolen! read below:

Upon verification we attempted to contact the webmaster:

to add to the pile of shit we have been dealing with we received this yesterday from the original complainant:

"This guy's really asking for it, now he actually is back up & running with this new company...
We will be posting shortly, and have contacted other webmasters that we know this guy stole content from, to also post. He has many webmasters pissed at him because he steals everything, how dare he post such crap about WebAir!"

Webair may be a good host i'm not doubting that, but thier business ethics are being questioned. i think they have the right to stand up for themselves and rightfully should try to protect themselves. but there does seem to be an issue here the guy lost all of his work and wants some answers (not to mention his backup) he should have the right to atleast the answers.

I didn't say anything bad about webair, i really didn't even have any knowledge of them until you refered someone to them on another thread.
Regardless i still think this thread is interesting and as an adult webmaster i would like to know whats going on when there are problems poping up in the industry.

He never sent us anything to show the photos on the site were licensed. The complainant did. WE HAVE A BACKUP OF HIS SITES AND HE IS WELCOME TO IT! The client simply did not reply to our repeated requests for proof of ownership, until the sites were suspended. Again, we verified that the complainant's accusations were indeed true, and linkdatabase.com failed to show us, or even reply to us when we asked repeatedly for proof of ownership.

Webair would never cut a client A VALUED CLIENT AT THAT, unless the circumstances were overwhelmingly against him. Oliver Rodela left us no choice by serving stolen content. If the content was not stolen, he should have faxed, e-mail, called something in to verify proof of ownership. If he could fax that in today I'd give him free hosting for life =) I believe if he rightfully purchased the content we would not be having this conversation.

As do I, I am a webmaster myself, and we started Webair because we had so many problems with other hosts! Webair, after reading this thread very carefully, you make the point that linkdatabase MAY have stolen content, but you have NO PROOF that any of his content is stolen.

Alleged accusations by another webmaster DO NOT mean that the accused is the culprit! If you took down linkdatabase without any proof that his content is stolen, ONLY ACCUSATIONS, then you are - WITHOUT A DOUBT- at fault.

Now if you have legal proof that his content is stolen then your actions are justified.

On a side note - I've submitted sites in the past to linkdatabase and I'm familiar with his site. From my experience he is a very friendly and reputable webmaster.

So bottom line... DO YOU HAVE PROOF THAT HIS CONTENT IS STOLEN?

And from webair's responses on this board I sure as hell know to stay away from them and warn other webmasters of webair of these events and other negative feelings towards webair as well.

Not true, had you supplied us with the correct contact information perhaps we could have contacted you, and why is all of the info under the whois contact falsified as well? We tried every avenue to contact you. The complainant had a user/pass to your site, proof of ownership, licensing information etc... You gave us nothing.

This entire case could be closed by simply faxing the requested papers to WebAir, if your content is licensed to you, you should have the right paperwork available to proof this.
