Athlon XP motherboard recommendations?
Time to retire this POS computer. Looking at the Athlon XP over the P4 now and wondered if anyone has any reccomendations on a motherboard.
I generally stick with Abit - I love the jumperless configs, but stability and ram support is more important. Any takers?

I would actually buy a P4 1.6A right now those babies are cheap and run @ 2.2-2.4 Ghz with a standard HSF
You might wanna look into those ! ![]() |

Really? What mobo is best for that? Standard HSF and it overclocks by 50% - wow.
Sounds like the days of the celery 300a's running at 450

In fact, people talk about the Northwood P4s as the next gen 300As
Mobo recommendation... hmm ... ABIT BD7-RAID eventually... i845 chipset, DDR goodness - can't go wrong with that one. |

HardOCP has a nice writeup on the 1.6A:

hehehe thanks man - I just found those myself.
Sounds like the AVC SuFlower HSF is the one ot go for. I was always partial to the old copper orbs back in the celery days. Wonder if I could mod one of those to fit.... hmm Very impressive though - 1.6 straight to 2.2 with no problems.
