Fucking Winblows XP

Geez - I can't fucking believe it

WinXP is screwing up my system majorly. First I can't run ICQ anymore, must switch over to Trillian (which wasn't a bad idea), but then it all of the sudden resetted my PS6 settings to default...

ARGH ! Fuck WinXP, where is my Win2k CD, time for a proper format c:

I have the same problem with XP.... I was able to run ICQ until last week.... Now it gives me an error message when ever I try to fire it up. I've tried to uninstall it but I still get the same message.....

:stoned

i doubt that icq works for like 20983029438 people and it doesn't work for you two/three.

right click on the icq in xp, .exe and choose properties.. choose compatibility > choose run this program for whatever.. 98/2k whatever

Will work now

Don't use icq2000 on xp as it has a huge security hole (unless you want ppl snooping in your pc).

I had a warz version that I got from.... nevermind.

I had all those problems stated above, until I had time to go to the store and buy my own copy.

I almost run everything with no problems now.

the only crazy thing is that when I use IE6 sometimes if I type in a URL I get something else... dunno how to fix this one yet.

I bet the warez version that I have continously keeps programs from running after a certain period of time.

Hmm... where is my 2k copy

I'm thinking ICQ won't work because MSN doesnt want it to work.

They just re-launched their messanger service.

Are you ppl not able to read properly? ICQ 2000B HAS A HUGE SECURITY HOLE.

http://dailynews.yahoo.com/h/nm/2002...curity_dc.html

The problem results when the application is flooded with more code than it can handle, triggering a so-called ``buffer overflow'' error and allowing extraneous code to be executed. That could allow someone to download malicious code onto a targeted computer.

Use the compatibily option or buy a 'legal' winxp option instead of the devil's own and you'll be fine.

I use win XP pro works fine here...no problems what so ever
running 2 months without a single crash or bleu screen.

You can set the interface to classic....so it looks like 2K
same for the window settings. go to view options and
change to your likings....

I would NOT go back to ME, NT or 2K!! But....what do I know?

I put XP pro on last friday and it's working great so far.
I like it better than 2000.
When I tried setting up our home network on 2000, it was nothing but headaches.
On XP took me about 30 seconds and it works fine.
