Do you still buy CDs?

With the Ipod and a million other mp3 players on the market, are buying CDs considered old fashioned?

I have not bought one in like 2 years or so
I mainly listen to music when I am on the computer so I download songs off of iTunes.
I miss buying CDs though I have a couple hundred or so, but its just do damn easy to download it and go.

There are so few artists that would put out a CD with more than 1 song on them that I would like and they haven't put out any new CDs for a while. I have the computer running into my stereo so when I'm working I just do all my music listening here. I'm not in the car much, so I just listen to talk radio, especially since one of our right-wing talk stations switched over to Air America

I support small artists, and will buy most CD's unless its an artist who could give a fuck about the 13 bucks I'm dropping on thier disc. If I burn a cd from someone and I enjoy it, I'll always go out and buy it, any other way would be stealing.

I don't do the MP3 thing, I used to, many years ago before they were popular (We're talking like, the months following mpeg layer 3 came out and it was underground pirate sites, etc.. Pre-napster).

The last CD I bought was NiN's latest, but yeah, I still buy CDs.

Not anymore. For the past few months I've been using the Yahoo Unlimited music service, $60 a year for all the music you want. And I just got a 30GB dell dj mp3 player that plays the subscription mp3's. I love it.

I buy every CD that I love, especially if I can grab the CD at the concert...that way most of the $ goes to the band...(I also buy a lot of merch...shirts etc...)

I buy CD's more as an impulse sort of buy. I like wandering around music stores, browsing and listening. Sometimes, I buy what is merchandised well or really stands out.

I've often thought that a great way to sell CD's in music stores would be to have a jukebox sort of thing where you could scan a CD in, pick a few songs and buy a compilation CD. However, that would be almost impossible with the current music biz.

The last time that I spent $20 on a CD rather then downloading music (p2p or buck a song), it was for a full live concert that I saw. The band has all of their live performances online for sale a couple of days after the concert.

I buy lots of CD's and SACD's .... If you can't tell the difference in sound quality between mp3 encoded files and CD's on a good hi fi you have cloth ears.
