Have you ever missed the plane?

JB and I tried to save a little money and take one car to the airport, and we missed the filight by 1 minute, meaning we got there 29 minutes early. You know the drill, "uh we can't even find you in the computer" and of course they have outsourced their customer service to india. Sheeeesh. So here we are in the airport, resigned to our fate.

Isn't it cheaper to get there on time than to miss the plane?

I am always at the airport and always take models to the airport at LEAST an hour before the flight leaves.

Of course not. Was more of a rhetorical question though. Never missed a flight myself, I'm always ridiculously early when travelling by plane...

Back in the old days they would hold a flight for a few minutes for you. "We have a runner" was often heard and seen ;)

I have been very close a couple times, but haven't yet. I usually get there incredibly early.

Missed a flight once, coming home from Daytona Beach.

Was storming like hell, and wasn't really concerned as it was obvious no aircraft could takeoff in those conditions. When we got to the airport it was sunny and clear.

Pretty amazing.

No but a few flights back I was the last one to board. I was running through the airport just praying I would make it.

I missed a flight home in March, got there about 35 minutes before departure... but the delta ticket counter was empty... just kiosks... the kiosk didn't work... finally a person came out to help and told me they could get ME on the plane but not my bags and I cannot travel without my bags so it was impossible to get me on a plane. So I had to wait til the next day (my birthday) and fly, when I got home that night my bags did not arrive on my flight!!!! They didn't get there until a flight 2 hours later. I was so pissed!

Once I was on my way to Vegas for a show and got to Burbank 2hrs early. Went to check my bags and they told me that my flight was out of LAX.

My bad!

I ended up on an earlier flight out of Burbank instead!

LOL

I had a screw up in the dates once - told travel agent I wanted to leave on Tuesday the 4th. Turned out the 4th was Monday. So she books Monday, never bothers to tell me I've got the day of the week wrong. So on Tuesday, I get up, see the paper or the news or soemthing and go, oh shit it's the 5th!! And sure enough, we missed the plane.

It was a bitka.

Never did. But for those who missed, does it mean you'll have to purchase a new plane ticket to get to the next plane?
