Oh, so true.
I think Snatch is one of the best movies out there. Splendid.
While I'm at it i'll list the top 5. (like you give a shit)

1. Snatch
2. The Game
3. Seven
4. Matrix
5. American beauty

You don't know what happens in those movies before they're over... that's good.
Then there's the one Kevin Spacey movie.. don't remember the name, but it's a criminal movie, and Spacey was acting something he wasn't..

Yeah.. blah.

First, Fight Club is an awesome movie anyone who has had long bouts of insomnia can relate. I liked that movie so much, I made my own soap. I swear, one bar lasted Cat and I almost a year, and we used it everyday.

2nd, your list is perfect except one movie... Se7en. No offense but as movie standards go this one wasn't the best. Nor should it be near the top.

The movie had no redeeming characters. There was no character arc. In the beginning of the movie Pitt, is a loose cannon. He goes into situations with "guns-a-ablazin", by the end of the movie he hasn't learned shit, and still goes out, "guns-a-blazin"

I think this movie did well because of the idea of the movie, some guy that plans out a way over complicated suicide by killing six people before him. I think it did well because of the creepy factor, build a few fake bodies and people will cringe. Cringe = $$, in the movie business. ( I should know )

The movie that you're thinking of is "The Usual Suspects". Anothe great Spacey filem.

I think someone shoul have stopped him from doing K-Pax though. That movie sucked ass..

YES ! Severely under rated movie.
Tombstone and The Professional were great flicks too.

I know a guy who is alot like the character Brad Pitt played in Snatch. Four guys jumped him in a bar one night and then one sat on his chest pounding his face over and over. Finally the guy gets off him and says "I cant hit you no more cause I broke my fist". My buddy got up and punched this stone wall as hard as he could then said "Now my fists are broken too, lets go".

After my buddy broke most of that dudes teeth out and bit part of his ear off he ran for about 7 miles through the woods while State Police chased him. My buddy is about 5ft 5 inches tall and weighs about 130 lbs. I wouldnt fight that crazy fucker if my life depended on it. Just goes to show you never know who your fucking with.

I don?t think I?ve ever seen a more pathetic discussion of modern film in my life. I mean my God do you guys actually watch movies or are you interrupted by the constant babbling of your miniscule brain reminding you to breath in and out? Please if any of you own Fight Club burn it now. Stick with movies more on your level like ?Hackers? and ?Cruel Intentions.? What kind of an idiot would even bring up movies like that in the presence of films like Fight Club and American Beauty? Where?s the mindless soul who?s bound to bring up Fast and the Furious, Planet of the Apes, or Dude Where?s My Car? If you?re out there this thread needs you. You guys need to be shot twice in the head (and if you didn?t pick up that movie reference you might need a third bullet just to be safe).

3. Gattica....Can imagine this happening some day...but not anytime soon!
4. Talented Mr. Ripley...again, never saw it but dont' really care for M. Damon

How many here knew that Citizen Kane was said to be the BEST movie of the 20th century!
I forget where I heard/read this but it was somewhat recently...maybe in the last few months or so!

snatch a revolution???? did you miss Lock stock and two smoking barrels? snatch was an AWESOME film.. but sorta more of the same after lock stock... which was also fucking awesome.. still.. im a little unsure as to whether i think they're better than fightclub.. it just had a little more substance.. i could connect with it a little more.. there were just too many clever bits to back up the style.. threatening to kill the guy if he didn't study to become a vet?? selling to and making soap out of rich bitches own asses? group support tourists?? having tyler spliced into frames in the movie before he 'came out'???? + loads more?? snatch was good probably the best film i saw all year.. but it didn't challenge me as much.. not as many beatiful little concepts..... that said it's not hard to understand.... plus any movie that has CC companies exploding, helena bonham carter and the pixies playing over the finale rocks in my book..

memento, 12 monkeys, and the matrix were all cool as..

im glad someone mentioned the usual suspects instead of seven.. which isn't even in the same league..

man bites dog is good.... but im not sure about top 5.. even top 10...

any top ten of mine would include Delicatessen and City of lost children, but thats just me.. Pi too.. that was an awesome flick..

Hey I'm all for lightening up...I love movies like:
Dumb and dumber
Kingpin
Orgazmo,
Me, myself and Irene
Something about Mary.
Saving Silverman
American Pie

But one thing all those had in common they were funny.
DUDE WHERE'S MY CAR SUCKED ASS!

Citizen Kane was the best movie of the 20th century, anyone who knows anything about film will tell you that without delay. But compareing Citizen Kane with Fight Club is apples to oranges. I would go into further detail on why Citizen Kane is the best piece or work put on film to date but by the above post it seems like most of the morons reading this thread have probably never even seen the film.

Fight Club - great movie. Really involved on a lot of levels
Snatch and Lock Stock - both pretty cool movies. Fuck you BrettJ ;-)
Apocalypse Now - fucking masterpiece. The Redux is pretty cool, too...
Pulp Fiction - I think that movie changed the way I looked at the world...damn.
Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas - One of my absolute favorites

Anybody see Ocean's 11 yet? Not a fucked up flick, but pretty bad ass in that Rat Pack sort of way...and funny as hell.

Has anyone watched that Fight Club music video on the DVD? It's all the cool shit of the movie packed into 4 minutes...like a $100 million music video. Pretty fucking cool...gets your adrenaline pumping.

As for suggested viewing...I would have to add the following:
The Godfather
GoodFellas
Casino
Scarface
Heat
Braveheart
Full Metal Jacket
Natural Born Killers

"Our fathers were our models for God... If our fathers failed us what does that tell you about God?"
I actually had faith in you until I read this post. I work in the movie industry. I love film. And no one has made reference yet to the fact that "Cruel Intentions" was a super pathetic attmpt at a remake of one of my favorite films, "Dangerous Liasons"

I can't tell you how many, no talent, slack ass, dumbshit, young wannabe diretors/producers that say, "Citizen Cane was the best movie of the 20th century" I have met in this industry.

And, (I agree with you) I bet, none of them have ever seen it. I admit it. I have never seen it, so I can't honestly say if it's the best film of the 20th century. Without having seen every film of the 20th century, I doubt anyone can say what was the best film.

I know that I've tried to sit through it twice, and both times I fell asleep. I just know that when these idiots come to our shop they want to sound like they know film. I can tell that if they did see "Citizen Kane," it was in their film class, that they just barely graduated from.

You can critique film all you want but it all comes down to the mighty dollar. I've worked in it long enough to know that it's every man for himself. You want to see what I consider the best film ever made? Go rent, "Swimming With Sharks" I have seen stuff like that happen. People being yelled at by producers, and the producers just walk away laughing.

The biggest losers of all are the fuckin' Weinstein brothers. Their execs are basically personal secretaries. They have their fresh out of college execs (idiots) fetching coffee, and they give them "vice president" titles.

It's all about money.

Like those fuckers at "Mouse-wich" (Auschwich aka Disney Studios) Why do you think they release a movie like, "Monsters Inc.", then when the hype dies down, they re-release it with extra outtakes at the end.

Wait, I'm getting carried away...

All I'm saying is you spout off that these idiots have no idea what film is and they like shit films, and then you come in here saying what every film student here in LA is saying, "Citizen Kane was the best film of the 20th century". They say that during the first year after they saw it. They talk about it with all their friends and how they can make a better film, all the while they're writing a film about 4 college buddies, that come out to "Hollywood" to write a movie about 4 college buddies making it big in Hollywood. Losers.

All great films. Not a big fan of NBK though.

Yeah, a lot of people aren't fans of NBK...it's not realistic, etc. It must have just fit into something personal in my life at some specific time or something. For some reason, I thought it stood out when i saw it...just pushing techniques in a creative way. Most people probably see it as just annoying
