Content Rant.... One of my providers is claiming whited out ids LEGAL!

I'm pretty upset by this and need to vent.

One of my content providers is claiming that whited out ids are legal according to their lawyer. I'm not going to rely on someone else's lawyer to tell me how to run my company. I've already ceased doing business with AdultLegal until they provide me with ids. This company is next. I'm starting to get fed up with companies using this FSC delay as a means to not provide us with ids. They are telling me that until August whited out ids are legal. After spending $100,000s with this company you'd think they could trust me with damn ids. Their loss not mine.

I'll say this. Any content provider not willing to give me ids can shove their content up their ass and rot with it. We've got big money to spend on content and if you can't give me ids you'll never see my money. My guess is any company not giving out ids will be out of business within 12 months.

It is quite the dilemma, but if you can't see their side of the issue as well I think you're being a little silly. A lot of things are on "hold" right now, you aren't the only one hurting.

Btw i'm not going to say who this provider. I'm hoping they'll have a stroke of genius and realise that providing me with these ids is a good business move.

It's a pain in the ass that I have to fight for ids in this post June 23rd world.

Yeah I totally agree. I've been contacting all our providers today and all of them have been really good. There were a few mixups with some of them. In fact I just got off the phone with one of them and they are willing to work with us ( Norman).

It's just Adult Legal and these guys. Really hanging us out to dry. AdultLegal is trying at least. These guys are determined to not give me a thing until after the fsc court date.

Its amazing that content providers, who should be protecting themself most of all would not be following the guidelines set out by the new 2257's now. Its foolish on every level. If the FSC injunction falls through then they and everyone they do business with is fucked. What a stupid game to play with their cleints business as well as their own.

Oh well, I guess I'm going to have to hire a second kick ass photographer and video guy. It could get really busy here soon.

NO actually, I ( and I guess most) don't see their side of the issue. This is not a case where a part time webmaster or a small purchaser is requesting ID's out of the blue for a set he purchased. This is a rather large company, that has ( I would assume) purchased a significant amount of content from a provider. Shap and crew are not hard to find. They would not put their models, their content providers, or themselves in a bad posistion. This is ignorant. NOTHING HAS BEEN PUT ON HOLD, if you have it on hold, you will NOT be compliant.

Sorry Shap, if this doesn't work out for you, I guess you will have to scrap the content and Burn this company at the stake. Not a good way to treat someone in this industry. No professional courtesy what so ever. They would have to go to hell now, it would be much too late in my book. But again Shap is a patient man.

it sounded like the DOJ was going to have the regulations retroactive from june 23 on. If you have id's I would think you dont have much to worry about. Especially if your book keeping records are in order. you have a pretty solid reputation I would think most producers would provide you with full docs even if they arent providing them to everyone else.

if you want more content, that is 100% 2257 compliant, after losing some, let me know. We have the longest retention for plug in feeds in the biz (18 months average)

4 premium plug in feeds to choose from, flat rate, or per gig, you choose the number of videos, or buy stock.

Actually I read the initial post wrong, somehow. Yeh, I would be upset if I were Shap. Especially since I'm assuming its all exclusive content.
