Coulter: "Canada used to be one of our most loyal friends and vice-versa. I mean Canada sent troops to Vietnam - was Vietnam less containable and more of a threat than Saddam Hussein?"

McKeown interrupts: "Canada didn't send troops to Vietnam."

Coulter: "I don't think that's right."

McKeown: "Canada did not send troops to Vietnam."

Coulter (looking desperate): "Indochina?"

McKeown: "Uh no. Canada ...second World War of course. Korea. Yes. Vietnam No."

Coulter: "I think you're wrong."

McKeown: "No, took a pass on Vietnam."

Coulter: "I think you're wrong."

McKeown: "No, Australia was there, not Canada."

Coulter: "I think Canada sent troops."

McKeown: "No."

Coulter: "Well. I'll get back to you on that."

Great professional achievements BUT and it only confirms that she is as dumb as a monkey by not realising that she is off the track with her comments/opinion about Canada "lucky to be allowed to exist on the same continent as the USA"..... :helpme

BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA

It lost all credability when I saw it was Fox News, and became absolute comedy when I saw it was Ann Coulter. Figures.

What kills me most about Fox News is keep in mind Murdock made millions off super market rags before Fox Network, Blockbuster, Fox News. He obviously knows how to tap into the lowest common denominator of people with what O'Reilly has called, "public interest", or "personal segemnts".

Also keep in mind that advertisers also play a huge roll in what gets the most air time, as they want their ad spots run during the "hot issues". So some of these 24 hour news channels are little more than hot button pushers.

:disgust

But just call her dumb and listen to everything Nanci Pelosi says. Pelosi is the smart one. LOL

Hmmmm, her parents could have asked a few favours from a few friends....

"Ann Coulter was born into a family that she has described as "upper middle class". She attributes her conservative opinions and her acerbic rhetorical style to her upbringing in Connecticut. She has two elder brothers. Her father, John V. Coulter, was a lawyer, known for his legal work in cases against labor unions; he later became a constable. Her mother, Nell M. Coulter, is a member of the New Canaan Republican Town Committee. (Cloud, 2005)"

Very ungrateful of her............

"In 1996, the fledgling television network MSNBC hired Coulter as a legal correspondent and political pundit, which launched her media career. Though she was allowed to make many partisan and controversial comments as a panelist, she was fired in 1997 after an exchange with Bobby Muller, president of the Vietnam Veterans of America Foundation, in which she said, "No wonder you guys lost" (MSNBC's NewsChat, October 11, 1997)."

I think she is a nutcase too.....

"Critics also regularly attack Coulter for what they consider to be her unreliability in live interviews, alleging in particular that she frequently misstates facts rather than admitting error or unfamiliarity with the topic being discussed. Such charges are dismissed by Coulter and her supporters.

Finally, many critics oppose Coulter's support for Oklahoma City bomber Timothy McVeigh, President Richard Nixon, and Senator Joseph McCarthy and many of her stated views, such as:

Women should not be allowed to vote.
Women have no capacity to understand how money is earned.
Women should not be allowed in the military.
Juvenile delinquents should be publically flogged.
Liberals should be threatened with death or they will become traitors.
Environmentalism is against God's wish that we "rape" the Earth.
The way to prevent school shootings is to allow students to carry guns.
Canada is lucky that we allow them to exist on the same continent.
Muslims smell bad and we should forcibly convert them to Christianity.
The New York Times building should be blown up with the editors and reporters inside.
Fascism on a local level can be beneficial. "

Don't read too much into this. All manner of yanks were whining and pissing and moaning that Canada wouldn't allow itself to get suckered into thier adventurism in Iraq. All you're seeing on those tapes are the loudest mouths uselessly jawing away the hours, giving the viewing public what they want... which apparently on Fox is 'All Jerry Springer, All The Time(tm)'.

At least they know thier demographic. :winkwink:

I don't know shit about Dan Rather except that he was an anchor at CBS news...

But just so you know: I think extreme left-winger are just as dumb as extreme right-winger.... i'm not biased...a dumbass is a dumbass wheter he's republican or democrat...

Linkster 07-26-2005 03:38 PM

Although she screwed up her facts I would like to publicly thank the 10,000 Canadians that did join the US military in support of operations in Vietnam - of these 110 were killed in action and 7 are still listed as MIA. So - thanks :)

Of course if Canada hadn't run to the UN and begged to be in the "truce committee" they could have sent troops officially, but at the time they did have the decency to at least provide us with some great intel from their committee they sent to Vietnam to "observe" :)

its just funny to hear idiots bashing fox news for being bias because it doesn't match up with the news they hear on their political channels.

Many of these kids dont understand politics and thats they way they want them. Fox news is an enemy of the democratic party because he lessons the ability of the traditional media to work for the party.

Half of these kids would be embarassed to find out how much propoganda they are unknowingly sucking up each day.

Imagine this: People sent in 100's of dollars to an organization to elect a candidate to raise their taxes by complaining about a bad economy. ???

Just reinforces the reason why people that vote democrat are not told about democrat core values.

by the way,
Dan Rather should be in jail for what he did. But he argued and argued.

His defense: Yes I reported fake memos as accurate for 2 weeks, but I believe the story was true.

Next story: Dans early retirment.

true, some Canadians decided to join the americans in viet nam (approx 10k), however, the Canadian Government didn't sent troops in viet nam (and that was obviously what she was implying in that interview)...

Michael Moore never said he was communist or anarchist.

Bush is certainly not a racist close-minded American from a Kansas farm.

he comes from a WASP open-minded family. and his administration is filled with Jews, Hispanics and Blacks.

Any government that sent Canada to Vietnam would have been out of power for the next generation, the same as any government that would have sent Canada to Iraq. Canadians generally don't like a war where there's no apparent goal or purpose, but are the first ones at the door when help is needed for a real cause, sanctioned by the international community.

In short, we deplore senseless violence... but we have no problem with SENSIBLE violence.

xmas13 07-26-2005 04:13 PM

i dont see everyone's problem with Bush. did u lose your job bc of him? did your wife divorce after the elections? lost a son in Iraq?

come on

Iraqis were not happier before he took office. and u wont find a Kurd or Shiite not praising the US.

i cant imagine 50% of Americans want Saddam back (a man that GASSED an entire village during peace time) and can conclude a pact with Al Jazeera, a TV channel that denies this act
http://slate.msn.com/id/2111888/
then read http://commonsci.blogspot.com/2005/0...er-gassed.html

everybody knows saddam's family is bloody violent, and his son was torturing Iraqi soccer players after defeats.

sad , very sad.
