How many of you know that when you quote a news source you have a few copyright laws you have to follow?

It's something along the lines of you can only use a blurb from the news source and you must link to the rest of the news. News sites like google, yahoo, etc do it this way, but it always seems GFY doesn't.. It's a copyright violation for the poster and Lenz.

You are correct, tons of copyright bs going on.. Famous people, copyrighted music, logos, etc.. Tons of it.. I guess the webmasters just don't care..

TheDoc - I totally disagree with you as these types of postings are covered under the "fair-use" doctrine and laws. These have been litigated many times in courts and since GFY falls under the non-commercial use of the articles and used for comment/discussion they could never be liable in my opinion - and my opinion is only based on EFFs faqs about the fair use of copyrighted materials since they follow these types of cases constantly.

Fair uses with a news article only covers part of the article. If you publish the full article that is a copyright violation. Part 3/C covers that.
