Is AlienQ a good designer?

I don't think I have ever seen any of his work. Does anyone have any links to his work or possibly a link to his portfolio?

This is not an attack thread, I'm just curious. AlienQ screams from a mountain top how good his designs are and being another designer, I want to see what I'm up against. No drama here, just curiousity.

He's the only designer that I know who has never disclosed any information about his portfolio. I find this to be interesting.

AlienQ is a complete and competent designer with experience and knowledge of this industry not just photoshop. I've said it before, I'll say it again, you may find him to be goofy, you may not like him, but when it comes to design he knows what he is doing.

I think I'm one of the few people here that have no problems with Alien. I've had a few conversations with him via ICQ (it was probably 2 years ago since I last talked to him). He even duped my sig with his own pic chewing on something green.

I have just heard both stories regarding his artwork and I wanted to judge them for myself.

did you contact him about viewing his portfolio? He never had a problem disclosing his portfolio when I've requested it. In fact he usually shows me his latest work, or whatever I request. if I like what I see I place an order, and he has a chance to give me his thoughts and ideas on how he would handle my project.

Like I said you may not like AlienQ gfy poster, hell he is not my favorite. But as a designer he is good.

HAha, still trying to figure out who ya are

None the less I am glad some people think my work is good.
I get alot of bad press, I admit it part of it is intentional, some of it I am trying to put in my 2 cents.

Sometimes I am being out right wicked, but above all my work does come first. GFY passes the time easier as I design. Design is not somthing you can just sit and stair at to piece together it takes quick sessions and stepping away for a sec then getting back into it.

Again thankies folks the support is really appreciated.

interesting that a US based designer would do something to make sure he has not visible 2257 concerns.

yeah I agree it IS interesting to see someone take a different approach.

No I have not contacted him about viewing his portfolio. That being said, as far as I can remember, anyone who has requested info about his portfolio on this forum has been told off. His reasoning for doing that is that he doesn't want to have his work to be copied. I perfectly understand that it would be a pain in the butt for any designer to see their work being stolen. But to go from there to not show what you're capable of to anyone because of that concern is a pretty big jump.

I love all of AlienQ's work, it's nice stuff that converts.

I find it funny how people attack him because is work isn't as flashy as others, but I know that his shit sells and the flashy work just looks pretty..

In fairness, I think it's pretty common knowledge that you can view 90% of the Porndollar portfolio, there are people in this thread pointing you to his work. I also am pretty damn sure he had his hands in OhMobile in some shape or form. This topic comes up once a week. Be it from an interested party or a troll looking to stir up shit.

If you have asked to see his portfolio and he did not respond in a way you liked, My professional opinion is don't do business with him. I dont' think he is lacking for work, and I think many people forget, or don't bother to read and comprehend that GFY is treated as a playground. I'll grant you he acts like a crazy asshole sometimes, but business is business bullshit is bullshit.

If memory serves didn't you have a long pissing match with him at one point? I know others flying similar sigs as yourself have had a run in or two with him on this board.

Insult Alien the GFY poster, you will have much more success. AlienQ the designer is a different story.

Thats my last thought on the subject. I don't want anyone getting the wrong idea.

if he gets enough biz without having to show a portfolio then all the more power to him, people that hire him to do designs obviously know what they are going to get before hand.. i dont think he's hurting biz wise

Also you can't really judge these designers by the shitty $300 tours they're forced to do.

I'm not suggesting that he's lacking work. But I do find it interesting that a designer will not put his portfolio up for show when most do just the opposite in an attempt to drum up business.

Yes, I did have a long pissing match with him at one point. But it's not I that he told off when asked on this board about his portfolio. Even with all the shit that has been stirred between Alien and I, I have, at one point, considered talking to him about some work. The fact that a portfolio is not available and the response that he gave when someone else asked about it on this board made me change my mind pretty quick.

HighOnAcid has been at this business for a long time and I think it's fair to say that he's seen the work of most every designer worth a dime in this business. Thinking that he hasn't seen any of Alien's work, a designer who claims to be one of the best in this business, is something I find curious.

Did you personally ask him to see it?

I think he may not care to show it. I asked him today to do a project for me and he declined, mostly because he is too busy. If you are a designer hooked with a few programs, you do not have much time.

Thanks for the props alien!

Alien does great work , and he's showed his work to me all the time and I gotta say its great stuff .

He just loves to fuck with all you trolls and then we sit back and laugh at you all on ICQ ~!

I'm pretty sure he's lowered the quality of those images he posts in threads to fuck with ya'll even more , cause his work is very different from those things LOL .

Aliens good peeps .
I've worked along with him on a few projects now and all have gone more than smooth , and alien delivers reliably .

Oh , and on his designs ... he spells it " You're " So hes fucking with you all , and you take the bait ;)

Well I certainly wouldn't put him in Amp's league, but some of his stuff is pretty good.

Based on my personal opinion and real numbers from selling a good number of sites that Amp designed, I'd argue he is the very top tier of adult designers right now.

IMO Alien does great work. The people that contract him seem to love it and that is what matters.

Amp is probably the best designer out there. His ability to convert is just crazy.

It's funny when people talk designers... because you have the solo guys like Amp, Alien, etc and you have the larger companys like bluedesign, webinc, etc.

For solo designers I would say the top five are...

Amp
Tylo
Alien
MachineGunKelly
QuaShe
