I totally disagree with that theory.

If you're constantly getting negative attention, EVEN though it may appear that people are signing up to promote your program...there will always be those who will NEVER sign up and NEVER say a word about it publicly.

Privately however, when someone asks those same people whether or not a certain company is worth doing business, they'll direct them to one of the most powerful and unforgiving reference tools in our industry...http://www.gofuckyourself.com/search.php?

It doesn't have to involve constant negative attention. Sometimes careers/businesses can be decimated by a single accusation (whether it's proven true or not).

Depends on the starting point. Unknown Nobody to famous villain could have its benefits. To go from Superman to Lex Luthor, also might have its positive side. But for either to make headlines for doing something that has no fan-base... well, that could add up to less than Zero --

It is eitherway. It usually depends on the content of the publicity and how people react on them.
