I think it may just be an IE bug - my Win2k IE5.5 setup does exactly the same thing, view source does nothing.. Not sure what the problem is.
Cheers, Backov

WOW, I thought that it was just me that had those annoyances with XP. It is irritating as hell. One thing that I found about viewing sources though is that you can still do it in Netscape.

I have randomly had that problem also, I reinstalled a newer version of IE (6.0) and I think it is fixed now, however for certain sites I still get .bmp images. I know thiers also a program out there that automatically loads up just the source of any site you want. It saves the trouble of loading slow ass netscape for it and then having to click view source, and also will give you everything without browser only redirects. Sorry that I forgot the name, if I remember ill send it to yah. Also if I want the images I just go into an old netscape browser I have setup where it doesnt recognize the gif and jpeg file types so it automatically saves them when I goto the url of the picture.
Hope this helps, John

The IE view source problem means you need to clear your browser cache. I ran into it a while ago when I started using Win2K and found the answer in one of Microsoft's forums.

I had the same problem too!
I refreshed a zillion times no workie I upgraded to ie6 and still no workie Finally one day it just decided to work. I still don't know what fixed it or caused it to work. ALSO, I could open an html file off my hardrive with IE and then view source with no problem. It was only when you tried to view source of a page you were surfing when the problem occured. ![]() |

Clear your browser cache and that should fix the view source and saving as .bmp problems.
