I just say student .. People are really internet savy these days and I cannot get away bullshitting saying "internet marketing" or stuff like that. All my family is extremely computer savvy; they are all computer programmers mostly.

Even my dad who is 62 yrs old is like "So what commodity do you sell on-line? Do you work for your clients? Do your clients contact you on-line? Do you have a set schedule or do you work whenever you want? Do you get paid commission or salary? Are you selling products directly to your clients or are you a middle-man?
Who are your clients?" I think he has the illusion I work for one big company but just work from home or something

It's like JESUS CHRIST, give me a break.. lol I can never tell them what I do because my family is asian and asian parents/families are just plain crazy. They basically think you are a failure if you don't have PHD and aren't a doctor or a lawyer or some other shit profession that didn't take at least 7 yrs of schooling

Thats the way it was for me at a recent family reunion. I got totally off guard from their barrage of follow up questions and it showed.

Im making some fake sites now selling ring tones and cell phones, just to have an excuse to tell people that I sell shit online.

I tell most non-family people what I do.

However, pussy that I am I tell my mom that I am a telecommunications marketer. She never really asks much more after that. I think she thinks it has something to do with telemarketing, because once she asked "doesn't it bother you that your job annoys people?'
