Good question! How do you get yourself invited to the hottest party in town? I have to quote Brad Shaw here. "Success leaves clues." We'll be searching for great teen and solo girl sites with whom we don't already have a sponsor/affiliate relationship.

if you have to say no to revshare affiliates you are doing something wrong.. but hey.. what do i know ;)

Yeah, we are new. We don't have any idea what we are doing here. Thanks for your two cents. I just hope we will get past the 3 joins/day mark soon.

Seriously, new affiliates can be quite demanding and time-consuming, but often times not very productive.

see you next month :)

Damn... How much did you guys spend on advertising per month?

You guys will have plenty of extra cash now I guess....

I can completely understand the move. Doesn't take a rocket scientist. Lightspeed is looking to protect their content, brand, and most importantly thier affiliates. Over saturation can do as much damage as under saturation. They obviously have a very effective affiliate network. Props to Lightspeed for making a very smart move.

I'm more then happy to work with our affiliates -- please feel free to contact me by email or ICQ if you have any questions or if I can be of assistance (in the sig) :)

Steve Lightspeed

Yes Mr Lightspeed.. i know you are succesful and you do more than 3 joins a day. But the reason for that wasnt a policy where you said no to affiliates, now was it?

Looking at your statistics i assume theres the outcome that 90% of your productive affiliates have been in your program for years and the newer affs cause 90% of the overhead and 10% of your turnover. Maybe less even.

But face it: its growth.. and its money you are saying no to. Affiliates demand as much as you let them. All im saying there are other ways to kil
overhead and as a wise businessman as yourself you should know that.

mrthumbs 07-11-2005 08:21 PM

On the other hand Steve.. weve talked a year back or so for hours (not as mrthumbs i suppose) and i know about how you see things for yourself and your business in the future and what you want and dont want.. so from a personal level i totally understand your decision ;)

Without knowing exactly who you are, or what we talked about, you have me at a disadvantage.

However, a lot has changed for me personally and professionally over the last year or so. I am now much more focused on my business and on ROI than ever before.

Sweet!

Another program that never cared enough about identity theft to buy a $40 chained cert to encrypt affiliates SSN/Tax ID's is worried about itself.

cybermike 07-11-2005 08:56 PM

You Lightspeed heres a tip, make some non nude galleries for each site.. thnx :)

You are the first to accuse me of "not caring about affiliates" --- if anyone didn't want to give ssn or corp ID over the net, we've always had a toll free phone number they could call to provide the info.

Steve Lightspeed

Must have missed that option on the signup page...

Why not buy a cert, though?

"Didn't think of it" is a valid response -- you wouldn't be the only one.

Sorry to single you out, Steve -- I'll shut up now.

Interesting move Steve and a little more traffic for me I hope as there will be a little less competition.

What is it that affiliates ask for? I don't think I've ever needed any support or help or anything what so ever from a sponsor. (actually untill today) I asked BlockBooster Cash for a members area pass, and got it.

They used to have it setup so they would give out limited FTP access to promotional content, so someone has to manually go in and give affliliates access everytime they need some new content. I'm sure that must be a lot of work. Not a bad idea though to keep their content fresh.

Anyone with a lot of traffic is already most likely an affiliate.

I totally agree but any amount of extra traffic is always nice wether it be big or small. This will limit the people that sign up and post every FHG on a single page. I see it as a good thing, Nothing huge but a goodthing.

Well ya obviously they want to weed out the next to worthless affiliates. They'll save on hosting, processing, time, reps, paper, stamps, ummm who knows.

there are other programs that have been doing it.... for years....

so its not a new concept, but I do see alot of the "bigger" companies moving towards this policy.......

I would only imagine, this will help with my conversions, and the conversions for Steve, , becuase you wont have surfers signup up for an affiliate account, just so they can get access to the free hosted galleries...... (bye bye signup, when that happens)

So, good move Steve !!!

$$$ 07-11-2005 09:36 PM

Yeah, cause now you have people thinking "FUCK, WHAT, I CAN'T SIGN UP FOR LIGHTSPEEDCASH? I NEED TO GET INVITED AND START SENDING THEM TRAFFIC ASAP!"

It's the Gmail routine ;)

aico 07-11-2005 09:46 PM

Hmmm, I remember asking a few months ago why in this industry anyone can essentially become an employee without any sort of screening process or "interview" and everyone seemed to think it was a stupid question...

It was the very same post where I asked if people were giving away too much hardcore content...

And I was told they were both stupid questions and it would never happen...

I hereby proclaim myself a Prophet and seer of the Future...

We used to have it set up so that everytime someone needed FTP access, we had to grand it to them. Now all you need to do is log into the affiliate area and download zip files.

phil-flash 07-11-2005 09:54 PM

I am compelled to state that this is interesting... (not sig whoring!) :)
