Actually, come to think of it, Brad more or less gets involved in wars back and fourth and not so much just plain picking on people. So I guess this is a little different.

I can tell you, for me, if somebody was ever able to actually destroy my business/life and managed to leave me feeling desperate and defeated, I for one would damn sure start taking things away from them. Pets, family members whatever. Maybe it's just me that would rather die than have a normal job again though, who knows. :)

wow what a lot of Drama here. Unfortunately the Canadian legal system is vastly different then the american. Brad will serve papers and after the Canadian lawyers milks him for about 30k they are gonna wind up in court and the judge is gonna toss it right out of the window. As far as internet security and damages you are actually only entitled to losses in Canada. And that could be very minimal. However if Fris does decide to countersue it will probably be thrown out or there will be a settlement of less then a couple thousand and it could go either way. Also Brad you are not entitled to all your Legal Fees even if you win. Maximum is about 8k and that is in Canadian money and it will take about 2 years to see the court system. Unfortunately this is just something that is gonna squeeze your cash flow and not Fris'. Also in Canadian law Fris can claim he is destitute and you will receive nothing.
Of course your lawyer told you all this ;) Right?

Also if you are not incorporated in Canada and not doing business in Canada with a proven Cash flow from your software you will receive $0 and have to pay Fris's legal fees.

Strangely enough, a friend of mine who is a Canadian Lawyer pretty much laughed at the whole thing too. Brad probably knows best though.

Yeah actually a Canadian Lawyer unless he is your friend will not tell you the reality of what is actually gonna happen. He is just gonna open his hands up and say send me the retainer ;) I mean in civil matters , somebody who is maimed in a car accident is lucky if he gets a $100k and that is only cause there is State owned Insurance. Civil matters in business are very expensive and are 9 times out 10 hardly worth it unless the matter is in the millions and both parties are cash flow positive. Fris being Canadian could potentially actually make money from being sued, and that is the reality of the Canadian legal system.

Brad, if you really think you can win this you are nuts. You need to a check a case that is going on in the Canadian Supreme Courts right now. Currently, Fris could write how to break into a house, murder, hack, etc, and it?s legal in Canada to produce and publish. Then onto hacking, unless it was forced entry to a secure system, it isn?t hacking in Canada. Unless you have proof, solid proof, (ip address, stolen private date, etc) a judge won?t even hear the case in Canada and the RCMP will just laugh at you for reporting it. Read what has taken place in Canada over the last few years. Then, lets not forget that Fris can just ignore your case and nothing your lawyer or the American Judge can do about it. You can sue for damages all day long, records, papers, etc.. and he can just laugh as he shreds them.
