All the info was always there, just not in the today tab as the default time zone of StatsRemote is PST. All your hits, sales, rebills, $$$ etc. were always displayed in the 'this month', 'this week', etc. tabs and you could always use the custom tab for this purpose as well. Also, we recently added a tomorrow tab which was already on our to-do list before UnifiedStats was released because quite a few of our members requested it.

What I don't like is that John does false advertising on his website and in his posts. He feels the need to compare his product to 'existing solutions' and makes false statements. For example, a quote from his website: 'With existing software solutions, living in a time zone other than where your affiliate program is located means waiting for your stats.' This is just not true, at least not about StatsRemote.

Another example for false advertising:
From https://gfy.com/fucking-around-and-business-discussion/479699-unifiestats-stats-app-support-aff-interface.html
- The only stats application on the market which will show you a 100% accurate view of your stats at all times

What if a sponsor changes their stats? Does UnifiedStats fixes itself and automatically displays the correct stats then? Can they really guarantee that all routines work 100% accurate at all times?

I really don't mind competition but I think it's kind of sad that competitors feel the need to make false statements about 'existing solutions' in order to market their product.

:2 cents:

are you saying that unified john is dishonest?

I'm not saying he's dishonest. As I said above, I just pointed out that some of his statements are false.

Good god man, you advertise "know all your numbers" is that a completely true statement lol

Your intent was to smear.

If you can't see the difference between a slogan like 'Know all your numbers' and statements like 'The only stats application on the market which will show you a 100% accurate view of your stats at all times' or 'With existing software solutions, living in a time zone other than where your affiliate program is located means waiting for your stats', I can't help it.

This is something the RevStats guys and we have never done for a very good reason :)

You did take this to a personal level...that's very clear in your post.

Your 'scanning tomorrow's statement...where you've been doing it all along is certainly up for debate...just because it's clumped in to the total numbers isn't much of an argument...it certainly isn't out of left field that I would advertise having this capability being brand new on the market and it obviously appealed to people...and to you apparently as you later added it.

I can understand why you are concerned...you have successfully cornered the market for years and it's painfully obvious there was a need for something like this...and my 'false advertising' and thread selections certainly aren't the reason for it's success...

You came into this thread pushing the persona of not having to respond directly to it or me ect (which would have been an admirable stance)...and I wasn't going to enter it either...obviously the people in the thread are webmaster's using both software...

...so let the webmasters decide and leave this worthless crap out of it...I am really not concerned with what you and revstats have considered to be acceptable advertising/marketing strategies over the years...and I'm certainly not lying to webmasters...you personality sure flipped quickly here...act like a business man and drop this crap...

pornguy 07-06-2005 09:04 PM

We are thinking of using unified as well.

Not bad for a freebie but it's got nothing on SR.

$30 a month, c'mon! That $1/day saves me about 2 hours per day checking stats. I've always thought it was very reasonably priced ;)

Doctor Dre 07-06-2005 09:14 PM

Hey Jon ... how do you remove a program that you don't want there anymore ?

Doctor Dre 07-06-2005 09:16 PM

Abyss_Vee 07-06-2005 09:21 PM

they are both great programs,, everyone should stop complaining about stats remote... if u dont like it then dont use it,, no need to bash on a program that has been a great tool for a long time. go with what you like

cjaccardi 07-06-2005 09:24 PM

just downloaded unifiedstats and like it alot never tried anything else though

dready 07-06-2005 09:40 PM

Looks promising, I'm getting tired of the old app i've been using the last 6 years. I hope a LOT more programs get added to the database.

Relish XXX 07-06-2005 09:46 PM

I never trust free services untill they have been running a sucessful free service for over a year. Staff cost money. StatsRemote charges people as they have to make money to pay overheads etc.

Free is all very well but in 6 months when the free service has gone and there are posts "It was great while it lasted" you then realise why you have to pay.

May this new stats checker knows something we dont. I wouldnt be cancelling subscriptions to stats remote just yet.

slapass 07-06-2005 09:47 PM

Stats Remote was the first tool that really pushed me to the next level. The new program could be awesome, and I would always be a stats remote user. JB, you were great in the beginning and continue to run a solid software solution.

:thumbsup

PS we have 2 accounts with you. Now that is loyalty.

http://www.unifiedstats.com/trial/signup.php - Why does it have trial in the URL to the download page? Is the free offer only there to get webmasters to swtich over then you make it pay?

Until just a few days ago you had to pay for it. Now it has been made free and will stay that way according to what they posted in another thread.

UnifiedStats went 'online' almost 2 mos ago...during that time we offered a very long free trial and were set up to go into a monthly payment plan...

During the course of this free trial, we came to the conclusion we were going to switch gears and treat this as a webmaster resource and offer it for free.

We aren't hiding anything...it's 100% free and we are deeply commited to providing webmasters a valuable tool for their job...the benefits of running a successful webmaster resource are obvious...it's a win win situation for everyone involved.

We aren't going anywhere...and it will remain free.

you gotta forgive us, RARELY (if ever) does someone in this industry do something TRULY just for other webmasters to benefit from, without it being a scam of some sort. :)

lol...I understand.

It's really not much different than what we are all using here...the owner, programs and webmasters are all happy here and no doubt it's of value to everyone involved.

I will see the benefits in the long run....and I'm very aware of the need to prioritize making the tool valuable to webmasters first and foremost.

Check out pornresource.com tomorrow morning for an interview with me...might help answer some questions about me...where I came from, why I'm doing this ect... :)

IMO, free services are not reliable, and rightfully so, why should they be? They have no obligations to anyone.

There are many free and reliable webmaster resources...we are all on one right now :)

Nathan 07-07-2005 12:05 AM

One tiny small comment,

first of all, I use neither of the two systems...

But, is it not obvious enough that StatsRemote has no real competition right now if the only way for UnifiedStats to get users was to make it free? If they could get them with the pay model, I am sure they would have kept it at that.

Overhead is expensive, especially with a good 500 programs out there which keep changing their interfaces regularly and 5 new programs launching every day... lets see who can get the most accurate list of programs...

hjnet 07-07-2005 12:17 AM

I think as the "inventor" of the entire remote stats thingie the guys at Statsremote deserve a bit more support. I'm using them since more than 2 years now, and was always quite happy with their service, and I'll continue to use them as long as their service stays as good as it is now. And maybe they get even better due to the new competitor :)
