I was checking out the story on the Phoenix Forum (nice nod to fear and loathing in las vegas ;p), but noticed one large overlook:

In this paragraph, you're missing someone

I'll give you a hint, it's a Premium sponsor, whose name begins with an "I", ends with a "U"
