I hate doctors
Why isn't it just possible to just go to a random doctor, get checked, and pay immediately?

US doctors are no joke. It seems like they change their prices depending on how much pain you are in. Supply and demand.

Here, you have to get a doctor within the same postal code area, make an appointment, wait two weeks because they're always busy, wait for the bill to arrive (which can take a week or half a year), send the bill on to your insurance company, etc.
I'd actually prefer a store-like supply and demand kind of thing: walk in, get checked, pay, walk out.

I'm not sure where you live, or how they do it there.
With my insurance, you make an appointment, and if you want to see your doctor, then you might be looking at a week or two wait. If you want to just see anyone in ProMed then they can normally get you in same day, or next. As for payment, they expect the co-pay at time of appointment, and do all the rest in regards to sending in your insurance shit for the other $70 of your $75 visit. ![]() |
