Blockbuster Video NO LATE RENTAL fees...for real or small print?

this shit for real?

jacked 06-30-2005 09:53 AM

----------

The End of Late Fees Terms

Membership rules apply for rentals. Rentals are due back at the date and time stated on the transaction receipt. There is no additional rental charge if a member keeps a rental item up to 7 days beyond the pre-paid rental period. After 7 days beyond the due date, Blockbuster will automatically convert the rental to a purchase on the 8th day and will charge the member the selling price for the item in effect at the time of the rental, minus the rental fee paid. Member then has 30 days to return the product and receive a credit for the selling price charged, less a $1.25 restocking fee. These terms available at participating stores only. Franchisee restocking fees may vary. See store or blockbuster.com for complete terms and conditions.

Its for real Juicy
I rent from there all the time and have not had to pay any late fees.
I even tested it out and ketp the movie for 26 days and they only charged me a restocking fee after the first week.

FilthyRob 06-30-2005 10:02 AM

So it's like 7 days then a restocking fee, or you can keep it and they charge you after 30 days right?

Monique Niccole 06-30-2005 10:04 AM

The no late fees thing is real. I also have one of their special deals. $29 bucks a month and you can rent up to 2 movies every day. I pick up movies every afternoon, so it makes sense for me and saves me a lot of money.

Cool that sounds awesome I wonder what is Rogers Video here in Canada come back going to be. I dont have a blockbuster neer by

Was there not a lawsuit filed recently against blockbuster because of this promotion? Someone got dinged with a movie purchase and took it to a lawyer or something like that?

Haven't heard anything about it since.

BigBen 06-30-2005 10:08 AM

You have an extra 7 days after the due date to return it. If you don't, they charge you for the movie and you can keep it. You then have 30 days after that to return it and get a refund, but they charge you a buck or two for restocking fee.

Juicy D. Links 06-30-2005 10:11 AM

cool cool

Fucksakes 06-30-2005 10:13 AM

BuggyG 06-30-2005 10:16 AM

damn!!! been years since rented a movie from video store
usually just watch satellite

Pornwolf 06-30-2005 10:56 AM

They charge you for the whole video after a week or two but the refund it as soon as you return the video. I have store credit for the last movie I kept out too long.

sicone 06-30-2005 11:00 AM

They charge you THEIR price for the movie if not returned in 7 days. Keep in mind THEIR price for the movie is not the same price you see at wal mart when you buy a movie, they charge anywhere from 50 to 100 dollars per movie. Once you return the movie (within 30 days) they are supposed to credit the movie charge and will then charge a restocking fee.

wedouglas 06-30-2005 11:14 AM

Get NetFlix. No late fees or fine print. Hell if you lose it or break it just tell them you sent it back and they wont even charge you. Rroblems solved.

ssp 06-30-2005 11:15 AM

Damn my old videostore would charge me 4 euros if a DVD was late.

Netflix and companies like it is the primary reason for their new"No Late Fees" policy.

SetTheWorldonFire 06-30-2005 11:44 AM

It's true

I kept a game like 3 days after the due date and I thought I had late fees. Turns out that it's ok to keep a few extra days. :pimp

cosis 06-30-2005 11:44 AM

Look for a sign at the Blockbuster you go to, some of them say they do not participate in the no late fee program....... the one across the street from me doesn't so I do not go to that one anymore

cosis 06-30-2005 11:45 AM

oh ya www.gameznflix.com :thumbsup

Pornwolf 06-30-2005 11:53 AM

They only charged me $17.99 for the video.

emthree 06-30-2005 01:07 PM

Netflix is the only way to do it
Convenient and it has just about everything (even foreign films)

Same here. There are so many movies on satellite that by the time I watch the ones I want the ones that are in the video store I want to see are on satellite :upsidedow

Last couple of times I went to a video store I ended up purchasing rather than renting.

Rich 06-30-2005 01:35 PM

So basically, you get to rent it for longer (up to a month for $1.25), but if you keep it too long you have to pay for it.

taibo 06-30-2005 02:05 PM

i use their online service, it's pretty good. the movies comes in QUICK.
