What was your best result, how many sales?
Mine best result was 54 sales, mostly monthlies, so no cheap trials.
I heard stories about 100 sales, but that was 4 years ago.

Back in the day we did 139 joins in one day for busty-amateurs off a paid listing on the Hun. That was around 1999.

Now I get a few free listings per month and can get anywhere from 5 to 15 joins depending on the gallery.

on average 4 sales per free listing, it depends a bit off your placement in the list, but even a very low listed gallery can do good ;)

I think that our last was about 7 joins for the monthly, and 4 rebilled. But it is our site, so everything is for us.

Although I have a lot of respect for such results, I don't think posting the best results is relevant. WHat would be more relevant, as this is a business and we need to think about consistant profits, is how many sales you get on average from a Hun listing, and how often you get listed. That would determine your profits more accurately. Anyone can score a fluke once in a while, in both directions.

On average, I'd say each free gallery is good for 7 signups.

My highest for a free listing was 24. That gallery still has recurring members to this day.

while I agree there are more stable things in life than hun's traffic, its mostly not a coincidence when you make a nice number of sales

Never said it was a coincidence. At least not in the cases of those who consistently sell well. But still, your best and worst results may well be 25-30% from average.
