Question about 2257

Sup...

I'm unclear about something. Under the new regulations do secondary producers only need copies of the photo ID's of the models or also copies of the model releases? I ask because several content suppliers have only sent
me scans of the photo ID cards but some have sent me both ID's and model release forms.

Thanks

You only need photo IDs.

You do not need the model's address. Ontario health cards are perfect ID for 2257!

As far as the regs go, you don't need a release only a photo ID. A model release is a good idea to have just to cover your ass, but as far as 2257 is concerned just the Id is required.

You should also get a detailed receipt from the producer, and that receipt should state, among other things, that a commercial model release is on file, and that you have permission to use the images.

You also need to prove "date of production."

As a matter of fact, having the releases in your 2257 information could make you subject to criminal prosecution... The photo id is all that is required.

The model has to provide you with the AKAs... as far as the URLs, keep watching our progress with the software at http://www.2257ware.com I've been working my ass off on some really cool technology to allow you to not only catalog the site but automatically build the list of URLs for the productions.

I stongly recommand you get the model release...what's good an ID without the production date ? how can you tell that a model was 18 and over when she shot the scene ....

...Finally, claimed these commenters, the term date of
production is also vague in that it is not clear how a producer should
date a film made over several days. The Department declines to adopt
this comment. Given the statute's purpose of protecting minors against
sexual exploitation, with respect to primary producers, clearly the
date of production is the most pertinent because it will reflect the
youngest age of the performer involved. Secondary producers should list
whichever date or dates are relevant to their conduct. Moreover, this
requirement already existed before the proposed rule was published, and
therefore, this comment does not pertain to the proposed rule. See 28
CFR 75.6(a)(2) (2003).....

I don't see what is better than the model release as a legal document that shows date of production and legal name of the model
