Hey everybody ? some of you guys might be wondering where I?ve been the last couple of weeks. The sad truth is that I?ve been in jail from August 11 ? September 4th for a picture / story on one of my websites that offended the sensibilities of the redneck ?powers that be? in this stupid redneck town that has me on probation. Seeing as this shit is still in court, I?m going to have to cut you short on the details. As soon as I can speak about this shit, I will be glad to share the whole story with everyone ? because it is really fucked up as hell. Someday, I?ll be able to laugh about it.

One thing that always works is contacting your city's "investigative reporter" from the biggest news station - every big city has one. Explain your story to him, put him to work - going public and shining a light on things has a tendency to clean up shit real fast.

I felt the need to add to my post. Anyone who knows Jay, knows that he is a stand up guy and a true bro. Any of you with the "If you weren't doing something wrong, nothing would have happned to you" attitude have obviously led a very safe and sheltered life. Pisses me off becuase any one of you could have just as easliy found yourself in the same position. South Georgia is not goverened by the same social contract that the rest of the country enjoys. No matter what you say, Jay's treatment was in no way by any stretch of your limited imaginations approporiate, fair or even humane. We treat prisoners of war, animals, even insects better than Jay was treated. I'm sure even Jay wouldn't wish that experience on you or any of your friends or family members, but in fact you attitudes scream how badly you deserve it, if for nothing else to gain some perspective. Any of the GFY'ers who are black or have close ties to the black community almost certainly understand completely what Jay, his freinds and family have had to endure.

The real losers in all of this are the people who have no compassion, or sympathy for others in these types of situation.

Not that I'm defending Georgia, but pretty much anywhere in the country (california excluded), drive 50-100 miles outside of a major city & you'll encounter nothing but rednecks. Redneck gas stations serving catfish from god knows where...Sexually repressed redneck cops with a major chip on their shoulder...and weirdo redneck truckers that try to coax you into showers at truckstops (this actually happened to a friend). That's the beauty of touring in a band, you get to see all this shit every day. When you finally get home, you really appreciate it more. There are so many small shitty redneck towns, america is a wasteland. Fucking mutants at every turn. Mutants who don't care for outsiders. Anybody ever see 2000 maniacs?

People from other parts of the country do not understand what being in some of those places are like.

First I have to say If your not willing to go to jail, don't do things that are against the law. The law is seldom fair.

If you get stuck in a little town in the south, first off, the bailbondsman, judge, sherrif and community are all in league together, and it doesn't matter if you get a New York lawyer, you're still fucked. There's no other agency to turn to in those cases. THEY are the law.

Sue? Are you out of your fucking mind? Read above. You're still fucked and can't win your case.

Moral of the story is if you don't know the law of the land, stay the hell out of trouble i.e. don't break the law. If your black in some of those communities yet today, you're still fucked.

It was only ten years ago that the police force of Covington, La let women on the police force. It's only 26 miles away from New Orleans.

I used to know "good ole boys" who would ride around with a 2x4 in thier truck just to knock blacks off of bicycles. Kinda like "cow tipping".

You think you have rights until you go somewhere that doesn't recognize that you have rights.

When traveling through Georgia, put on a baseball cap, get rid of the baggy pants and do not have drugs on you.

Sorry to hear you got caught up in it, but why do drugs anyway? I hope the experience was worth the fun you have doing the drugs.

I'm sure even Jay wouldn't wish that experience on you or any of your friends or family members, but in fact you attitudes scream how badly you deserve it, if for nothing else to gain some perspective.
