Without fail every girl I've been with who has been a vegetarian has turned out to be a miserable controlling bitch. It's as if their need to control their own diet and their own little world isn't enough for them, they all had the irresistable urge to make my diet their mission to control too.

A few, as I recall, would talk a good game in the beginning, saying stuff such as they are fine with anyone else eating meat and that they are only concerned with what they themselves eat.... but this always proved false. I always invariably got the old "How can you eat that?" and "If you knew how that was killed you wouldn't eat that" or "Are you really gonna eat that?" and other usual bullshit. Usually each remark came coupled with a curled up lip full of attitude.

What none of them seemed to grasp is that I like my steak, chicken, fish, turkey, ham, roast beef, burgers, hot dogs, smokies, sausages, bacon, pork chops, salami, seafood, eggs, milk, cheese, etc etc. It is hard enough for me to accept the fact that with a vegetarian girlfriend I would not be able to enjoy a barbecue the same way as I would with a woman with a non-vegetarian appetite. To me that in itself is a big sacrifice, but on occasion I was willing to try at least.... but sadly they can't be happy munching their rabbit food and just shutting up about what others do.

One such bitch would not only snipe and pick at me for what I ate, but while in restaurants she would sit there and criticize what strangers were ordering too. In fact, she was the last one I ever went out with, which was over 10 years ago. Since then, whenever a woman tells me she's a vegetarian, sorry but no matter how nice or how genuine she seems, I'm out of there.

Give me a woman who loves a good well-rounded meal complete with meat, one who isn't a goddammed fussbudget about everything. If there were more vegetarians out there who could just be happy with their own grazing and not so insecure about what normal people eat this post would not be here. And yes, it IS normal for humans to have meat as part of their diet.

And spare me about how not all vegetarians are like this. I'm sure there are a few exceptional people out there, that's not what I'm saying here. I'm saying that every single one that I have been out with or in a relationship with over the past 20+ years has been this way to some degree. Argue all you want but that's the way it is.

Oh, CD. We are omnivores, which, as you know, means our bodies were meant to accept meat and vegetables and fruits. Semen has protein, so that's included, too.

Vegetarian women...well, not all are control freaks...but, since you are carnivourous, stick with a woman who has, at least, that in common with you!

No, I'm omnivorous. I don't know anyone who eats only meat and animal by-products. It's pathetic that vegetarians always have the urge to force their eating habits on others. It's not I'm forcing my meat eating habit, or say my green tea drinking habit on them, even though it might be healty or nutricious.

I wouldn't go as far as never dating a woman with a vegetarian preference. You have to be careful not to become the same kind of person, although on the other side of the fence.

Most vegetarians are merely "look at me" type people. They are simple and self-absorbed. They feel special by adopting this lifestyle and then subsequently forcing it upon others. It is actually quite pathetic.

I wouldn't say always. Generally those who try to force it upon others are vegetarian for animal rights activism, not for health reasons. I am a vegetarian and although I will offer people tips if they are interested I couldn't care less if they ate raw meat out of the package right in front of me. truth is, people on mostly vegetarian diets will look better, live longer, and be healthier than people who eats lots of red meat.

yes, the downside is you might have to listen to a little philosophical horseshit.

but go take a walk in any mall in america---more than 50% of the women over 25 are unfuckable due to overweight issues. i often play a game with myself and sit in the mall and watch the women go by, and mentally think of which women are attractive enought to fuck in the age range 25 and up.

and sometimes i can go 30 minutes looking at hundreds of women and not see anything that i could bone.

and most of the guys also are overweight who are meat eaters---they don't think they are, but they are. all guys should have a flat belly, and it is possible to do mostly with some diet and exercise at ANY age.

if you really want to fuck a hard body chick for many years, don't fight it if she wants to be a vegetarian---or get old and fat with her like the majority of folks in the west.

but WTF do i know. i am age 55, with a BMI of 21, and a 19 year old hard body wife.

(and i also eat some meat, mostly fish and chicken)

My last relationship was 10 years with someone who loved a high meat diet.

While I don't eat meat I do eat occasional seafood. When we would have a barbeque the steaks, ribs, chicken etc would go on the grill for him and others, while I would toss on fish, shrimp skewers, mushrooms, etc. They would also snarf down my various vegetarian dishes, rave about them and marvel at the fact that they were meat-free.

He also was a sweets famatic and had deserts at the end of nearly every meal (sometimes for him desert was the meal

). I really don't like sweets, especially after eating other food. That was never an issue either.

If eating habits are an issue in a relationship chances are it's just an easy outlet for other issues (with the exception of the militant activist types, who really shouldn't even attempt a relationship with non-kind

)

I'm not looking for someone who "eats a lot of red meat" either. Where did you get that notion from?

As I said...my diet is well-rounded. I will add here that when I do eat meat, I choose lean cuts, lean or extra-lean ground beef, and I trim the excess fat off of everything else. I not only eat red meats but a lot of chicken and pork and fish etc etc.

Variety.

It is my experience that people with a varied sensible diet that includes food from every group including lean meat will be healthier or just as healthy as anyone can be.

As for speaking up for the cause of vegetarian women, forget it. I've tried and have done my time down that road. No sale. I see that as settling for less, actually. I prefer being around women who, like Tala said above, have no hangups about sharing a good meal and enjoying it WITH me. I've never met a vegan or vegetarian woman would could maintain her composure and keep her mouth shut about my diet for long.

My older relatives that were around during the depression were practically vegetarian all their lives because a typical meal as a child for them consisted of peas/beans, squash, okra, greens or various other vegetables they grew themselves and ate with cornbread (meal being one of the few things they would need to buy at market). Although they might have slaughtered an occasional animal, their chickens were primarily for eggs and their cows for milk and their low-meat diet carried on into their adult life as a preference even when meat was freely available. My grandmother to this day would rather eat a bowl of beans and/or greens with cornbread and slices of tomato & onion at holiday time when my mom has laid out the spread that includes various meats and starchy dishes

Out of every 10 women I've met over the years, a few have been shallow in one way or another, yes. That's probably true of anyone's experience over time actually.

agreed, i really do not trust anyone who is a vegatarian, imo there must be something wrong with you to not ever eat meat.

i need a woman who i can take out to dinner throw a big slab of meat on her plate and have her scarf it down, it almost seems unhuman to do otherwise.

i also agree that they are self absorbed, there is always something else screwd with them that makes them feel they cannot eat meat, probably some kind of brain disorder.

Where one is probably has a lot to do with it. My experience has been that a good number of other vegetarians I have met had similar backgrounds, their families grew up poor in the south during the depression so the foods I mentioned above were staples their parents grew up with and continued to eat into adulthood.

I am Hindu so I was born vegetarian. I learned to eat meat. Sometimes being a vegetarian isn't a something you want to be but a cultural and religious issue. I can and do eat meat and vegetables.
I think the women you are with are trying to change you Cdsmith and that is always a bad idea. I don't understand why women want to change a man once they start going out with him. This is where all the problems start, if they would just be happy and accept the differences, we would all be happier.

I've recently been getting quite acquainted with this guy who is a vegetarian. For him it's not a animal cruetly issue. I really honestly don't completely get WHY... But man I've never even been around anyone who's a vegetarian so I have no idea what I'd do to prepare for ever inviting him to a barbeque.

I've actually found myself noticing more and more how judgemental we can get with out generalizations about it. I think he actually eats a way more broad spectrum of foods that I do because I don't really do seafood and I'm not huge on my veggies either.

I remember when he first told me about it, he's kind of a big guy, I thought "Shit you must eat alot of lettuce"

I dunno it's funny though that this thread is here today cuz I've been kinda educating myself on this.

My boyfriend is semi-vegitarian. He is not completely veg because he does eat meat sometimes such as chicken or beef. He always eats salmon though.

He doesn't do it because he cares about the animals, because he doesn't, but because he claims he doesn't feel good after eating chicken or beef and that it gives him a headache.

But it's true what you say about vegetarians being picky and controlling. My bf doesn't care what I eat, I eat whatever I want, but he is EXTREMELY picky about his food. He says he wants to buy food over the internet DIRECTLY from the supplier because it is not fresh enough from the store. He says that after the vegetables leave the soil, the longer you wait the less fresh it is, so he wants to minimize the time that it leaves the soil before he eats it

Plus he refuses to eat generic brand food. It always has to be the most expensive brands and organic foods only. Even when he didn't have a job and no money he would refuse using cheap brands, only the best for him... Plus he always has to use olive oil, God forbid it's canola oil or something like that...

Plus he is so anal, always reading the ingredients of everything he buys. He even refuses to use regular soap from the store, it can only be soap with "all-natural" ingredients such as tea tree and no artificial ingredients.

So so so soooooo picky....

It's not I'm forcing my meat eating habit, or say my green tea drinking habit on them, even though it might be healty or nutricious. I wouldn't go as far as never dating a woman with a vegetarian preference. You have to be careful not to become the same kind of person, although on the other side of the fence.

latinasojourn Confirmed User Join Date: Oct 2003 Posts: 3,191	don't give up on vegetarian women. truth is, people on mostly vegetarian diets will look better, live longer, and be healthier than people who eats lots of red meat. yes, the downside is you might have to listen to a little philosophical horseshit. but go take a walk in any mall in america---more than 50% of the women over 25 are unfuckable due to overweight issues. i often play a game with myself and sit in the mall and watch the women go by, and mentally think of which women are attractive enought to fuck in the age range 25 and up. and sometimes i can go 30 minutes looking at hundreds of women and not see anything that i could bone. and most of the guys also are overweight who are meat eaters---they don't think they are, but they are. all guys should have a flat belly, and it is possible to do mostly with some diet and exercise at ANY age. if you really want to fuck a hard body chick for many years, don't fight it if she wants to be a vegetarian---or get old and fat with her like the majority of folks in the west. but WTF do i know. i am age 55, with a BMI of 21, and a 19 year old hard body wife. (and i also eat some meat, mostly fish and chicken)

While I don't eat meat I do eat occasional seafood. When we would have a barbeque the steaks, ribs, chicken etc would go on the grill for him and others, while I would toss on fish, shrimp skewers, mushrooms, etc. They would also snarf down my various vegetarian dishes, rave about them and marvel at the fact that they were meat-free. He also was a sweets famatic and had deserts at the end of nearly every meal (sometimes for him desert was the meal). I really don't like sweets, especially after eating other food. That was never an issue either. If eating habits are an issue in a relationship chances are it's just an easy outlet for other issues (with the exception of the militant activist types, who really shouldn't even attempt a relationship with non-kind) __________________ .

Sometimes being a vegetarian isn't a something you want to be but a cultural and religious issue. I can and do eat meat and vegetables. I really honestly don't completely get WHY... But man I've never even been around anyone who's a vegetarian so I have no idea what I'd do to prepare for ever inviting him to a barbeque. I've actually found myself noticing more and more how judgemental we can get with out generalizations about it. I think he actually eats a way more broad spectrum of foods that I do because I don't really do seafood and I'm not huge on my veggies either. I remember when he first told me about it, he's kind of a big guy, I thought "Shit you must eat alot of lettuce" I dunno it's funny though that this thread is here today cuz I've been kinda educating myself on this.

He always eats salmon though. He doesn't do it because he cares about the animals, because he doesn't, but because he claims he doesn't feel good after eating chicken or beef and that it gives him a headache. But it's true what you say about vegetarians being picky and controlling. My bf doesn't care what I eat, I eat whatever I want, but he is EXTREMELY picky about his food. He says he wants to buy food over the internet DIRECTLY from the supplier because it is not fresh enough from the store. He says that after the vegetables leave the soil, the longer you wait the less fresh it is, so he wants to minimize the time that it leaves the soil before he eats it Plus he refuses to eat generic brand food. It always has to be the most expensive brands and organic foods only. Even when he didn't have a job and no money he would refuse using cheap brands, only the best for him... Plus he always has to use olive oil, God forbid it's canola oil or something like that... Plus he is so anal, always reading the ingredients of everything he buys. He even refuses to use regular soap from the store, it can only be soap with "all-natural" ingredients such as tea tree and no artificial ingredients. So so so soooooo picky....
