Typo Domain Getting 2500 Hits A Day - Whats It Worth?

Snagged a great domain early this morning and its pulled in 2500 hits almost in the last 18 hours and it looks like its also on track to do that in the next 24 too

In your opinion, whats the worth of this porn domain?

Regards,

Lee

How'd ya know that?

I figure with it being a typo the version we own is getting around 3-5% of their traffic levels.

jp-spot.com is the site? The alexa is really small so maybe it is different for alexa in Japan.

Yeah but i read Alexa as saying thats getting around 25-30k hits sporadically, which would work out to around 3% roughly.

jp-spot.com gets between 4 - 5k visitors per day, not 25 - 30k.

Trust me, it's just you.

The value of a typo will vary from one person to the next, depending on how well they can monetize it. Obviously, a typo like amazn.com is extremely easy to profit from - all the domain owner has to do is redirect the traffic to their amazon affiliate link code.

For European Lee's domain, which apparently is getting 2500 hits in less than 24 hours, it seems it might do well pointing to an Asian sponsor. Parking a domain like this with Sedo might not be a very good way to monetize the traffic for a number of reasons, most notably because you won't get credit for any pay per clicks from Asian traffic.

The person who knows best what the value of a typo domain is... is the owner of the domain. He sees the traffic, he sees how much money it makes (parked at one program vs. redirected to a sponsor vs. whatever he chooses to do with it). Of course, you have to weigh the value of the traffic vs. any potential TM issues (potential to have the name WIPOed from you, etc.) you might encounter.

TGP typo traffic?
Not too great.

See my sig for DS Premium, it consistantly outperforms Sedo parking on most domain names.

That's not bad for FREE traffic. Hell if you make twice what you paid for a domain I'd say you did pretty well for yourself.
