Typo Domain Getting 2500 Hits A Day - Whats It Worth?
Snagged a great domain early this morning and its pulled in 2500 hits almost in the last 18 hours and it looks like its also on track to do that in the next 24 too :thumbsup
In your opinion, whats the worth of this porn domain? Regards, Lee |
:2 cents: :2 cents: :2 cents: :2 cents: ?

Are you sure these are typo domains or maybe an old tgp that has bookmarkers?

jp-spot.com gets between 4 - 5k visitors per day, not 25 - 30k.

The value of a typo will vary from one person to the next, depending on how well they can monetize it. Obviously, a typo like amazn.com is extremely easy to profit from - all the domain owner has to do is redirect the traffic to their amazon affiliate link code. For European Lee's domain, which apparently is getting 2500 hits in less than 24 hours, it seems it might do well pointing to an Asian sponsor. Parking a domain like this with Sedo might not be a very good way to monetize the traffic for a number of reasons, most notably because you won't get credit for any pay per clicks from Asian traffic. :upsidedow The person who knows best what the value of a typo domain is... is the owner of the domain. He sees the traffic, he sees how much money it makes (parked at one program vs. redirected to a sponsor vs. whatever he chooses to do with it). Of course, you have to weigh the value of the traffic vs. any potential TM issues (potential to have the name WIPOed from you, etc.) you might encounter. :2 cents: |
By snagged you mean it was unregged?

Now I know what you're going to say. "Oh, well I'm a good person, and I like to help people. This is my style, I see nothing wrong with helping people. You are paranoid". Yes, thats all true and Jesus loves you. Now what I'm saying is, for some reason you always feel the need to prove "your knowledge" about domains. Relax a little. Believe it or not, it is not your job to educate every newbie about domains. Realize you're just creating competition for yourself. Kool? Thanks. :glugglug |
Have a domain getting 600 hits a day and it generates $600-800 a month, typo is shit if its not niche

TGP typo traffic?
Not too great. See my sig for DS Premium, it consistantly outperforms Sedo parking on most domain names. |
