I hope the only reason Hawgs Cash closed down was not 2257 because injunction coming

most likely we will get an injunction on this ruling.

This is from my lawyers btw....I am not just guessing

Well, the injunction doesn't mean that ALL of the new rules won't be enforced.... most likely the "vague" and/or rules that cause an unreasonable burden will changed or removed.... otherwise I wouldn't expect the new law to just go away.

Translation, yes 2257 will updated however it will be effectively castrated?

It is truly scary how many people are not and have not been prepared for this.. You seriously should not be in business if you did not have a plan for this, banking on an injunction that may or may not happen, is very risky in my opinion.

Agreed... in this case, it's better to be careful than hopeful.

Who's to say closing wasn't "the plan"? I know if I had a small program and it was going to take 100's of man hours to track down info I'd be shutting it down and starting over again. I removed all the content from my free sites and will be buying new content. That will take substantially less time and money than getting full 2257 from all the content providers I've purchased from over the past 7+ years, cross referencing the info, having my home address as a record keeper, etc.

Shutting down is a viable option if you consider the amount of time/resources it might take to become fully compliant. Especially if you own another program which is already compliant.

Citing 2257 Problems, HawgsCash Shuts Down

Adult affiliate program HawgsCash has announced that it is shutting down due to the new 2257 regulations. The company has recommended that affiliates remove all free content and banners it distributed because the implied licenses on the material will be rescinded on June 20.

It's more like a reality check, if you are closing down, you are basically saying "I would be completely fucked if the Gov came knocking at my door" in reality, you should of ALWAYS been compliant incase they came knocking a year ago and wanted to do a records check..

I'll beeive and injunction is coming when one actually does. And even so doesn't mean the DOJ can't appeal that to a higher court.
