Help! - VX2100 Mic Suggestions
Ok, been doing my back lighting lately (in addition to the key/fill I always did). Man, the pros were right... makes a night and day difference in the scene. Got the warmcards.com set (fucking awesome), now it's time to take my audio up a notch.
I need suggestions of a midrange good multi purpose mic for the VX2100. What do you suggest, and how much will it run me? When I get around to getting my wide angle lens I'll spend the $600-$700 for a good one, but I don't want to get crazy with the mic.... I'm not doing Star Wars or anything. Thanks in advance.... and any other tips anyone wants to throw my way I'm all ears.

Actually.... the mic won't be multipurpose at all. It will be used to film for one thing... Single girl shoots with interview. Sometimes outside, and it's windy where I live. I'd like it to boost her voice and lower mine. I don't know the lingo... maybe shotgun mic? And the wind... maybe foam on it?

I meant you *need not* spend more than $200.
But you will need a cable and a means to hang the mike.

I just want an upgrade to the one on the camera I guess that's reasonable. What got me thinking about it was a Time article that was obviously for beginners (that's why I didn't post this link at first cause I didn't want to look like the noob I am when I suggest this brand most likely), but they suggested using this mic, "which yeilds rich sound". Mind you they were also talking about $300 minidv cameras in the same article. http://www.dvcreators.net/products/videomic.html
