I personally use blueyonders cable service which goes up to 4megs - i prefer cable over ADSL because the response times seem to be quicker.

The alternative is Bulldog ADSL which does up to 8megs - most of if not all ADSL services require a BT telephone line tho' so bear that in mind.

Might be worth looking around though since things may have changed since I last did any research into this.

Yeah I've got the BT line setup as well.. So I'm looking for an ADSL provider.

At the moment I think they are - but BT's 8mb is due to go live later this year so it should be available pretty much everywhere. I can't get Bulldog where I live so I have to make do with Pipex 2mb connection To be fair though they offer an excellent service. Been with them for almost 2 years now and can't complain at all!

I use bulldog at home (the 512k service not the 8 meg) and i've found it to be sluggish and at times just unuasable, constantly timing out. The support is a joke and i spent three quarters of an hour on the phone listening to hold music and was then promptly cut off.. Go for the 8 meg service if you like but good luck trying to talk to anyone if anything goes wrong...

Sounds like blueyonders support too... though I have rarely had any downtime though so I haven't had to use it often.

i use zen 2mb, its fast and ive never needed to call support in the 3 years ive had the connections with them. ive moved a couple times and it has always been installed quickly.

however later this year there will be many faster adsl products available, but if your buying now go zen they have a 1 mnth contract anyway

Pipex rule - we use it constantly to download torrents - uploading lists etc.

Number 1 ISP - Pipex

Using Tiscali Broadband. Very rarely any problems with the service itself but if you have to contact them for any reason...be prepared for fun with the support (you are calling India for any tech support as it as it is outsourced).

I am not criticising the outsourced support as some of the helpdesk people clearly know what they are doing...just the inconsistent messages (speak to two separate people and be told two totally different reasons for the problem...lol).

But that`s the norm anywhere.
