The bill was introduced by a Democrat?

Biography of Congressman Steny Hoyer

Congressman Steny H. Hoyer of Maryland's Fifth Congressional District is now serving his second term as the House Democratic Whip, the second-ranking position among House Democrats. Congressman Hoyer was unanimously elected by his colleagues in the Democratic Caucus to serve in this leadership position, in which Hoyer is charged with building unity among House Democrats and delivering the Democratic Party's message.

Congressman Hoyer's service as Whip makes him the highest-ranking Member of Congress from Maryland in history. Now serving his 13th term in Congress, he also is the longest-serving Member of the U.S. House of Representatives from Southern Maryland in history.

Congressman Hoyer's experience, know-how and strong work ethic have led to increasing responsibilities within the House Democratic leadership. He served as Chair of the Democratic Caucus, the fourth-ranking position among House Democrats, from 1989 to 1994. He is the former Co-Chair (and a current member) of the Democratic Steering Committee, served as the chief candidate recruiter for House Democrats from 1995 to 2000, and currently continues to actively recruit candidates around the country. He also served as Deputy Majority Whip from 1987 to 1989.

Some of you guys are talking like your votes actually count or that the current government cares about rules and the constitution. They have to have 3/4 of the states rectify the amendment? Is that right? Bullshit, if they want to do this they'll do it. They'll change it so only half the states have to approve or some shit. This may not even be meant for George Bush, this could be for Jeb.

Either way, the world will be a nuked-out wasteland before anyone with a last name other than Bu$h is President again. The funny thing is half the country has been manipulated into believing that's a good thing.

Possibly to try to pull the same deal that was pulled with the 16th amendment...

It was never ratified, but a lie made it law and nothing was ever done about it..
The biggies know it was never ratified, but don't want to lose their perks .. with a few exceptions...

You can read about that one here..

What do voting machine have to do with anything? Do you not get how the Constitutional Amendment process works?

This bill would have to be passed by 2/3 vote in BOTH the House and Senate. That means about 30% of the Dems in the House and Senate would have to vote YES on this. That assuming that 100% of the Republicans would. Do you think Senators Bill First and John McCain who are both gunning to the Republican nomination in 2008 will vote yes on this?

Now if this bill somehow passed in Congress then 38 of the 50 state legistlators wil have to vote YES on this. Now the LEGISLATORS vote on this NOT the people. That means 13 states voting no kill this bill.

Not only that but if this bill isn't introdcued until 2006 then that means it would have to go thru all of this in about 2 years which would be near some kind of record for a constitional amendment.

When you can't do things the normal way, you send planes into buildings and invade nations and terrorize your own country.

Hey, just because we think that something can't be done, doesn't mean it won't be.

Who'd a thunk that half of the stuff in the past 4 years would have happened???

Never underestimate what someone can do with the right level of power and connections.

As an online discussion grows longer, the probability of a comparison involving Nazis or Hitler approaches one.
There is a tradition in many Usenet newsgroups that once such a comparison is made, the thread is over, and whoever mentioned the Nazis has automatically lost whatever argument was in progress. In addition, it is considered poor form to invoke the law explicitly. Godwin's law thus practically guarantees the existence of an upper bound on thread length in those groups. Many people understand Godwin's law to mean this, although (as is clear from the statement of the law above) this is not the original formulation

Yeah all kinds of things happen that seem impossible. Heck just today a woman won her second $1 million lottery jackpot this year. The odds of her winning the lottery twice was 419 million-to-1.

http://www.ksat.com/irresistible/460...s=ant&psp=news

When things like that can happen it makes you wonder what other 'impossible' things can happen when people are actually able to influence the outcome.

Don't count on it not happening just because "Dems wont go for it." The Democrats and Republicans in high positions work for the same "people". Let us not forget that Bush and Kerry are cousins and are both members of The Skull and Bones which is a brach of The Illuminati (A Nazi death cult).

Regardless of party affiliation (Which is all theatrics), religion, creed, etc. We must work together as Americans to safe guard our constitution and institutions.
