Please read..... thanks
I am going to quote the page to view here if you are not intersted in going to ebay first.
Warning some of the pictures are pretty damn upsetting. I have donated all my paypal money to this family already. Please just give it a read and do what you can to help. http://cgi3.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dl...rid=anteros911 ![]() WHY WE ARE SELLING OUR CARD COLLECTION Where to begin?..Well, first off, just so you know up front. This auction is for the well being of Chelsea who is almost 19 months old. We are selling our Card Collection (Book value $3400.00 U.S.) to pay for the medication and treatment Chelsea requires. PLEASE BE ADVISED THIS AUCTION SHOWS PICTURES OF A CHILD THAT SOME MIGHT FIND A LITTLE UNSETTLING AND HARD TO LOOK AT, PLEASE USE DISCRETION A LITTLE ABOUT US We are a young family, blessed with a 3-½ year old son Tyler, and Chelsea. My wife does not work, she is a stay at home mom, providing all the care for our son and daughter. I work two jobs. My main full time job is in an arena, I work 4 days (6am to 4pm), then 4 nights (3 pm to 1am), then 6 days off. On my days off, I work part time for a Store that sells floor coverings and blinds. I install the blinds for their customers. Our son is a perfectly healthy 3 ½ year old, loves the typical things that all little boys love to do. Our daughter (the reason behind me pouring my heart out for anyone interested in reading this) is a beautiful 16 month old. I make $16.22 an hour at the Arena, 40 hours a week. That translates into a yearly income of $33737.60 Canadian. For our American friends south of the border, it works out to $13.46 an hour, or $27995.34 a year, depending on the exchange rate. Not a big amount, especially when you consider our rent is $800.00 a month, add in utilities, groceries, etc, and it does not leave a lot left over. ABOUT OUR DAUGHTER AND HER SITUATION When our daughter was born, she was what we thought perfectly healthy. We were blessed with her indeed! But, when she was 6 weeks old, she started developing a rash in her diaper area, armpits, and behind her knees. We assumed it was a diaper rash and a heat rash. We picked up some lotion and put it on, but it did not work, instead it got worse as the days went on. We tried every lotion we could find on the market, but nothing worked (At one point, we had over 70 different lotions, we still have many left that remain unused until we get to them. Lotions with aloe, without perfumes or scents, medicated, unmedicated, nothing worked at all. It just continued to get worse. ![]() ![]() ![]() By the time she was 12 weeks old, she had gotten to the point that we had to put socks over her hands secured to her with hair bands and elastic bands, just to keep her from scratching. She would scratch to the point that she would bleed, and then start to swell up so bad that she could barely open her eyes. We had at that point seen numerous doctors, all telling us different things. It seemed everyone had his or her own opinions on what it was, one doctor even telling us it was just a mild heat rash!! Tell me if this sounds like a heat rash to you. Your 3-month-old daughter sleeps 2 hours a night. (There were and still is times when we get 2-3 hours of sleep every night for 2-3 weeks when she has a bad outbreak)When she is not sleeping, she is crying because her skin is so raw that it is bleeding. When you pick her up, she screams in pain because the pressure on her skin hurts so much. The only time she will sleep is when you are holding her, and even then, she whimpers because she cannot scratch. Imagine going for a car ride, and she is quiet for about 3 minutes, you assume she is sleeping. You turn around to check on her and find her completely covered in her own blood. She managed to get a hand free, and scratched her face and head raw, completely zoned out because it felt so good to scratch. That would make your heart stop, I know it sure did for us. It has happened to us on more than one occasion. Sound like a heat rash? Didn?t think so.

![]() ![]() ![]() Finally, after seeing doctor after doctor, our pediatrician finally told us he was clueless on the condition, and did not know what to do, so he started sending us to different specialists. The doctors he was sending her to were in Edmonton, a city about 2-½ hour drive away from us. I would take the time off work, and we would go. We had appointments every 2 weeks or so, and still nothing. We took her to an allergist, and finally after fighting with them several times, they agreed to do an allergy test on her, even though they don?t recommend doing so until she is 3 years old because it might not show up until then, as their immune system is still developing. It didn?t matter, we wanted it done, so they finally did it. It seems she was allergic to Dogs, Cats, and Dairy products. We used to have a dog, but luckily now do not have it anymore. It seemed the animal issue did not matter though. The reaction was so bad that the doctor recommended us getting rid of all our furniture, as the dander had worked its way into it and no amount of steam cleaning would remove it. So, we sold all our furniture, couches, mattresses, got rid of our son?s stuffed animals, everything that would hold the dander. We even made a point of moving to a Duplex that was just built so we could be sure the carpet had never seen pets before, even though our rent jumped $200.00 because of it. If friends come over that have pets, they have to bring a clean change of clothes, go straight downstairs, and change, just so the dander will not come into contact with her. It?s amazing watching her react to someone that has pets just being around her. It?s hard to imagine such a bad reaction, but it happens all the time. So, the allergy testing is done, and we remove all of the possible irritants from her living area. But, little improvement is seen, so back to see the specialists, at which point she is also diagnosed with severe Eczema and Ichyosis. We all know what Eczema can do, but Ichyosis is a disease that also affects the skin, and most commonly starts on the scalp and facial area. The skin is so dry that you can actually peel it off in chunks the size of a nickel. The specialist decides to try a new medication to Canada called Elidel. While it has been available in the United States, it is still new in Canada, so no insurance company will cover it, including Blue Cross, so we foot the bill for it, being $75.29 per tube, to be used in conjunction with another medication called Protopic, costing $92.92 per tube. To put it in perspective for you, you could fit about 4 tubes of Elidel into a standard tube of toothpaste, the same being said about the Protopic. Each tube lasts her 6 days, meaning 10 tubes a month. 5 tubes of Elidel is $376.45, and 5 tubes of Protopic is $464.60, bringing the total to $841.05 a month, just for that medication. The specialist is trying to get us on a study group, but has been unsuccessful up to this point. ![]() On top of that medication, she is also on various creams with different levels of steroids in them to help with the itching, plus she is also on antibiotics to help battle the skin infections. All this for a beautiful 16 month old with a smile that would melt anybody?s heart. It is truly amazing what she has gone through so far in life, yet she is still strong enough to give that smile of hers. We have since been referred to an acupuncturist in Edmonton. Dr. Steven Kyaw Htut Aung has been labeled the best in the world by all of his peers, and has been the first ever to do many things. I will not go in to details about him here. If you would like to read about a very special man, check these out: http://www.lieutenantgovernor.ab.ca/aoe/bio/aung.htm http://www.aung.com/ Not only is he the absolute best in the world at what he does, he is also a very compassionate man that has given us a shoulder to cry on more than once. We are in the process of treating her with a laser light on approximately 30 previously determined points. This is such a rarity that even Dr. Aung has not done it before for this condition on a child so young. She sees him approximately every two to three weeks, with back-to-back treatments, which means hotel stays, restaurants, etc. Not too cheap on a limited budget. That brings us to the present. These are the cards our daughter have been dealt, and we have to deal with it as best we can. I am working two jobs, and still cannot make ends meet. My wife cannot work. If she did, we would not be able to find a sitter that would have to meet the strict standards for her conditions, nor would they be able to give the constant attention she needs. We need to find a way to make sure our daughter can get the treatments and medications she deserves. So I am selling all my collector cards for $1.49. I don?t know what else I can do to help her out. Like I said, I am working two jobs, plus a family, that does not leave me much spare time, or spare money. We are currently so far behind on our utilities from the medication costs that we are about to lose our power, water, and Natural gas. ![]() WHAT YOU WILL GET FOR YOUR BID As you already know, what you will receive for your purchase will be a hand created personalized thank-you card from our family to you, signed by myself, my wife, and our three year old son. Also enclosed, will be a hockey card or football from my collection with a book value anywhere between $0.05 and $300.00 U.S., all depending on what I grab first. I am hoping there are some out there that would be willing to purchase a card for $1.49, plus a single shipping fee of $0.99 (No matter how many you purchase) to cover the materials, ink, and postage for the personalized thank-you card. On behalf of my wife, son, and especially my daughter, I would like to say thank-you for taking the time to read this, and thank-you for your bid, it is appreciated in ways you will never know. I'd suggest extreme environmental sensitivities and suggest trying an environment that's free of synthetic contaminants (turn her into a 'bubble girl'), but that's really just grasping at straws based on what I've determined from my own only marginally related condition (idiopathic angioedema). I fear that this little girl's chances are slim unless some medication or therapy or environment (or combination thereof) work out. Was there any mention of if the Elidel has produced any measurable improvement?

Can you please email me your home address, I would like to send you a check if that's ok.
No need for cards or anything, strictly Donation. I just became an uncle and I can image what you and your family are going through for her. She is a Cutie... I wish her the best. She seems like a tough little girl. Just send it to [email protected]

My Goodness, this is so heartbreaking. JupZ- i am going to icq you, would like to get their address to send a check.
I am also going to speak with my Mom, i think i can get a pretty decent amount of Elidel and could send a care package as well. I will do anything i can to help alleviate some of their financial stress. May God Bless this little angel. Thank you very much for sharing this story with us Chris. LL

I have a 5 and 9 year old who I have custody of and who have medical problems them self, seeing this just makes me realize how lucky I am to have what I have. Chris you and the people that are and will be helping out is awesome! One thing we could do is start sending the ebay link to all the news area's *shrugs* What I mean say everyone starts sending them the links in their home town, Like mine is Virginia it could help if they catch onto it and start reporting about it. Just a thought. When I get my money transfered to my paypal I will be sending some in.
Tom
