Another godaddy.com horror story!

I paid Godaddy to renew 5 domains last month. While routinely checking domain expiry dates this month, we discovered that while we had been billed for all 5 domains, one of them was in "redemption period". Not only that, they had charged an additional "administration fee" to our card!

We're still trying to find out what's going on. GoDaddy doesn't seem to know.

I will add to that. Bought a valueble domain with traffic on day of deletion. Then godaddy said oops! wasn't available we'll refund you! So I call them and explain that I lost more than reg. fee - I lost the value of the domain...how can you refund me that? Felt like I was kinda in the Sex.com story.

Why do you people still bother with godaddy? its just totally sucks. You cant push domains easily, you get spammed to pieces, you get partial paypal.

http://NameCheap.com

Try that.

Godaddy fucks everyone over, and there isn't much you can do about it unless you would like to lose your domains. Basically, once you've developed a name and have traffic flowing to it, you're hostage to godaddy's shitty policies, unless you want your account terminated over a $5-10 fee.

Go to a better registrar like namecheap, or if you want better pricing, get yourself an enom reseller account.

I've never had a problem with them, and most of the horror stories I've heard were preventable on the part of the webmaster.

In the UK we dont have as many channels as you..... Even on cable

So I signed for this great service www.everyshowsucks.com its $5 a month and I get all the new shows etc on BBand.

Last month GoDaddy shut them down.... its a really dodgy service that is full of legal crap.... but even PayPal support them so

If GoDaddy shut you down and PayPal keep you going you know something is wrong.

A really great service? That's not a legit service. It's illegal copyright infringement. GoDaddy was likely contacted by lawyers.

And I thought it was Godaddy.com not Godaddy.police

They register domain names and nothing more.

Even PayPal wont shut these domains down and they have every right to, and have a habbit of shutting everything suspect down.

You want to register with these guys then feel free..... If I want to call them right wing c-unts then I will.

I have over 300 domains with Go Daddy. No problems. They even gave me an account manager to bitch at whenever I need something.

Let's here some GoDaddy horror stories that don't involve waiting unitl the last minute to renew or sending out mailers.

They tend to take spam complaints more seriously than other places. So the first line of defense is being CAN SPAM compliant weather or not it's opt-in or not. As long as your opt-out link is actually working, it doesn't give anyone a reason to complain. Plus I am not aware of them suspending any accounts for CAN SPAM compliant emails.

The domains are cheap, registration is easy!
I've never had a problem with GoDaddy!

Until now. You just wait, your time will come. In the meantime, all our domains are being moved to another registrar.

I don't understand this. One problem and you run for the hills? You don't even wait for an explanation and to see how they resolve it? How a company resolves its problems is very telling in what kind of company they really are.

If I dropped every company that ever made one mistake... man, I don't think I'd be doing business with anyone.
