The Ocean Is Rising Near The Diplomat Hotel

Can't get much closer. They're dredging up 1.5 million cubic feet of sand to try and get the ocean back farther.

Bring your life preservers to the Internext show just in case.

2 years ago there was a nice beach about a hundred feet or so worth. Last year, there was no beach. At this rate, the beach was gonna be in the lobby. About time they dragged in some new sand!

Is that because of all the rain lately down there or is it actually because the sand keeps getting washed away?

The beach seems to be gone in general along the coastline there, scary...

Waste of time and money, it will not help. They spent upwards of $16,000,000 here in Del Mar ( San Diego ) putting millions of tons of sand on the beach and after the winter high tide it was all washed back out to sea.

Del Mar is full of multi million $ homes on the beach and a few years back high tides and strong waves damaged about a dozen of them, some so bad they had to be torn down. Nothing will stop the sea unless they put up a huge sea wall and even that will not last forever.

our beach here in Daytona is finally coming back.. but other parts north of here like Flagler beach is still almost nothing. Now hurricane season is back to take it away again.. Pretty soon I might have beach front property if things go well

Last time I was there, they were dropping huge rocks a ways out.
I figured it was to break the waves before they hit the shore and washed it away.. Looking for Pics now!
