Domain Transfer Question

I want to transfer a domain to a new registrar and have never done it before. Can anyone tell me if there is any time during the transfer when a domain will be offline?

Thanks for any replies

It should keep all the same info, (unless you chose otherwise) and it's anything but instant.................

I just transferred 3 domains from DirectNic to Registerfly and it took a couple days to get the notice from DirectNic that the domains were transferring and about 3 more to get the confirmation mails from RegisterFly that they had transferred. Sites were never down.

There will not be downtime as long as you keep the nameservers the same.

I just transferred a few the other day and while it took about 4 days the sites werent down. All youre transferring is the domain name, not the site.

It depends on the registrars. You might get anywhere from little to a few hours of downtime. The process itself doesn't happen instantly.
