Anything by THE WHO!, Itīs hard to choose just one from them...

I love THE CLASH, but i agree they donīt fit into ROCK, they were more the fusion of punk and reggaee.

The song that has made the #1 for best rock song of ALL TIME is

Stairway to heaven by Led Zep.

That song by far always has been and always will be #1.

The OTHER rock song that has slipped into that #1 spot the second most times (and remember, these top 100's of all time are voted on by millions of people) is:

Hey Jude by the Beatles.

There's your #1 and #2 right there. I would put "Bohemian Rhaphsody" by Queen at #3.

im gonna vote that stairway to heaven is by far the most burned out, overplayed song in the history of radio.

Run DMC - "Kings of Rock"

I'm the king of rock, there is none higher
Sucker MC's should call me sire
To burn my kingdom, you must use fire
I won't stop rockin' till I retire

Now we rock the party and come correct
Our cuts are on time and rhymes connect
Got the right to vote and will elect
And other rappers can't stand us, but give us respect

They called us and said we're gettin iller
There's no one chiller
It's not Michael Jackson and this is not Thriller
As one def rapper, I know I can hang
I'm Run from Run-DMC, like Kool from Kool and the Gang
Roll to the rock, rock to the roll
DMC stands for devestating mic control
You can't touch me with a ten foot pole
And I even made the devil sell me his soul

Now we crash through walls, cut through floors
Bust through ceilings and knock down doors
And when we're on the tape, we're fresh out the box
You can hear our sound for blocks and blocks
For every living person we're a purple treat
It's me and DMC, Jay where's the beat?

Now we're the baddest of the bad, the coolest of the cool
I'm DMC, I rock and roll. I'm DJ Run, I rock and rule
It's not a Trick or Treat and it's not a April Fool
It's all brand new, never ever old school

Pink Floyd - Comfortably Numb

yea, a little mellow, but an all-time classic rock song and definitely the best guitar solo ever

It's so popular and played so often for a reason.

Rock and Roll All Night (Party Every Day) - KISS

It's THE Rock and Roll Anthem, so that makes it best rock and roll song in my eyes.

Oh believe me, if I were compiling a list of my own personal all-time favorites it would look somewhat different than the actual "top songs of all time" lists that have been compiled over the past 40 years or more. I was setting my personal tastes aside and talking about which songs have actually made the #1 spot the most times than any others over that time.

I've had a radio on almost constantly since the late 60's. :D

You could ask me this question everyday for a year and get 365 different answers.
Today the answer is "Welcome to the Jungle"

No doubt. If you asked me top 10 favorite all time rock bands, that would change a little every day as well

Someone with a fucking clue. Nobody rocks harder than those bastards and they've been doing it for around 30 years.

Hey dont blame me for your lack of taste. :winkwink:
Even though I agree with most of what ya said lol

'I used to love her' and a few others are great, and classic. Im only 23 so GnR was kickin ass when i was 14 and impressionable

To me theres more to rock than just what you hear on a CD. Axl was badass for a few years. I guarentee he's had more primo ass in his bed than you or me.

But the lizard king remains the best all time rock star. Dionysus.
